POSITION:             Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Communications
DEPARTMENT:       Marketing 
REPORTS TO:           Chief Operating Officer
STATUS:                Full-Time, Exempt (On-Site)
 
SUMMARY:  Oversight of the Marketing Department.  Assist in development departmental goals, objectives, systems and strategies.
 
Essential Functions:
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing plan to increase event sales and overall brand awareness.
  • Overall management of all marketing and promotional activities for Orange Bowl events and programs.
  • Daily management of OBC marketing and media agency partners.
  • Work directly with Orange Bowl ticket sales and sponsorships departments to develop effective sales strategies and marketing campaigns that assist in revenue generation.
  • Develop and maintain working marketing plan for all Orange Bowl Festival events and programs.
  • Responsible for the creation, design, printing and distribution of collateral and advertising materials.
  • Oversee the creative strategy for the OBC website, social media, app and consistently look for ways to improve the OBC digital footprint.
  • Work with corresponding departments to ensure the OBC brand is being well represented both internally and externally. 
  • Work with the events department on shaping event design and entertainment.
  • Management of Pregame / Halftime production, including talent selection and on-field dance program.
  • Assist in analyzing the feasibility of potential new events and programs.
  • Management of the creative arts contest and other like promotions.
  • Develop OBC promotional calendar and oversee the execution of OBC event promotions and guerilla marketing tactics, ie. Street Team, Patch Patrol etc. 
  • Order and manage OBC promotional items.
  • Manage the activation of promotional partnerships such as Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Dolphins, FLA Live, Miami Hurricanes, etc. as well as select media partners.
  • Assist in management of the relationship with key stakeholders ACC, CFP, and others.
  • Manage OBC research studies on a yearly basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Obie mascot costume and calendar.
  • Assist in the development of public relations plans for Orange Bowl Committee and Orange Bowl events. 
  • Responsible for planning and securing speakers bureau opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for Marketing Committee and Pregame/Halftime Committee.
 
General:
  • At the request of the COO, attendance at monthly general membership meetings.
  • Emphasize and improve diversity with regard to employment as well as vendors. 
  • In conjunction with the CFO, provide implementation on the policies and procedures of the Business Office and Human Resources Department.
  • Assistance on special projects as assigned by the COO.
  • Representation at various South Florida business functions.
  • Representation at select industry conventions, conference meetings, business seminars, bowl scouting trips, and related business trips.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the COO.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus five (5) plus years’ experience.
  • Able to manage, prioritize and bring to completion multiple projects. 
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Proofreading skills required. 
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all corporate, personnel and research matters.  
  • Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.  
  • A willingness to work long hours required at times.
