POSITION: Marketing & Promotions Intern
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
REPORTS TO: Coordinator, Marketing Activation
STATUS: Internship, Unpaid, Onsite
SUMMARY: This is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in marketing. This internship is ideal for candidates looking to expand their knowledge and gain hands-on experience through a variety of projects focused on brand awareness, promotional campaigns, and audience engagement within a national sports organization. The intern will report to the Marketing Activation Coordinator. This is an unpaid internship.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Intern will learn and be exposed to:
- Gain hands-on experience within a major nonprofit sports and event organization, with exposure to the inner workings of the Orange Bowl Committee.
- Support the development and execution of advertising, marketing communications, grassroots promotions, game day activations, in-game entertainment, and event management initiatives.
- Assist with day-to-day marketing department operations and contribute to a variety of organizational and event-related projects.
- Help support marketing strategies designed to increase overall brand awareness for the Orange Bowl Committee and its events.
- Participate in marketing research projects and assist with the creation of event scripts and promotional materials.
- Assist with the execution of in-game promotions, entertainment elements, and fan engagement activations.
- Support the coordination of stage activity, and on-site promotions for the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest and other events.
- Assist in the development and execution of community-based promotions and initiatives, including programs such as the Creative Art Contest (Grades K–12) and Tag-A-Teacher.
- Support OBIE mascot appearances and promotional activations, including portraying OBIE at events as needed.
- Take on additional marketing and promotional opportunities as assigned.
PREREQUISITES
- Pursuing a degree and/or career in Marketing, Communications, Sport Management or other related fields
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Photoshop and/or Illustrator
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
- Valid Driver's License
Note: Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours per week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
