POSITION:            Game Operations Intern (Fall) 
DEPARTMENT:      Events & Operations
REPORTS TO:          Chief Administrative Officer
STATUS:                Internship, Unpaid
 
SUMMARY:   This is an exciting opportunity for an individual interested in a career in events or operations.  Intern will observe, learn and develop skills necessary to explore career opportunities within the chosen field.  Individual may qualify for college credit if allowed by their college/university. This position is an unpaid internship.

LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Intern will learn and be exposed to:
·         Inner workings of a major non-profit sports and event organization and how it relates to the community
·         Learning the basic fundamentals of game operations while given hands on experience and how it pertains to the Capital One Orange Bowl game
·         Understanding game operations and applying learned fundamentals at other events including the Basketball Classic, Orange Bowl Cheer and Dance Championships, OBYFA Playoffs and OBYFA Super Bowls
·         Gain knowledge with the overall coordination and communication associated with the Frequency Coordination program including travel, accommodations and vendor delegations
·         Training in the development and management of expenses and budgets
·         Participate in serving as a secondary liaison to Hard Rock Stadium
·         Hands on training in the production of pertinent game participants’ guides , credentials guide and manuals
·         Exposure to the coordination of escort transportation for teams with courtesy cars, limousines and busses
·         Acquire knowledge associated with determining the needs, development and assessment of communications, equipment and product distribution, product signage and event logistics staff, security and traffic assignment levels, traffic and transportation plans and police escorts for departments and special events
·         Exposure to the management of warehouse and storage facilities
·         Learn the overall coordination of the events and both games security
·         Acquire sound planning and execution of game and events operations
·         Other opportunities as may be available


PREREQUISITES
·         Pursuing a degree and/or career in Sports Management
·         Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Publisher and typing skills
·         Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
·         Valid Driver’s License
 
Note: Preferred commitment of a minimum of 20 hours a week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
