Peach Bowl, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that owns and operates the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Game, the Aflac Kickoff Game(s), the Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge golf tournament, and operates and manages the Dodd Trophy. The Volunteer Coordinator position will be responsible for overseeing our volunteer program, including recruitment, development and yearly management. The position will be responsible for managing multiple events and activities held indoors and outdoors throughout the year. This includes leading our largest fan events/festivals outside the stadium (FanFest and Tailgate Town), and leading or assisting with numerous other key events, facilities, and partners.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for all aspects of our volunteer program. Recruitment, development and management of over 500 volunteers. 
  • Manages the volunteer database (Rosterfy), communication from PBI to volunteers, awards, uniforms, name tags, training meetings and appreciation parties.
  • Manage specific volunteer groups within Kickoff games and the Bowl as relevant/assigned. Fan Ambassadors and FanFest volunteers are two examples.
  • Responsible for obtaining options, ordering, packaging, and distributing all uniforms for volunteers, and others as needed.
  • Responsible for coordinating the management of volunteer groups that other staff members specifically manage.
  • Responsible for creating, planning, and managing all aspects of our two largest fan events outside the stadium. An indoor festival for the Bowl (FanFest) and an outdoor festival for the Kickoff Game (Tailgate Town).
  • Responsible for assisting numerous events through concept, development, project management, execution, post-event evaluation and budget management for specifically assigned events.
  • Produce project management documents (task lists, ops timelines, PowerPoint summaries, recaps) and planning documents for all managed initiatives throughout the year.
  • Responsible for helping manage one of our Bowl hotels.
  • Responsible for helping develop and implement all aspects for the following, in collaboration with the Director of Events and Vice President of Events:
    • Arrival Events
    • Hospitality Rooms (décor, furniture, games, food & beverage, etc.)
    • Hospitality Activities & Events
    • Hospitality Credentials
    • Team Gift Distribution
    • Departure Breakfast
  • Managing our FCA Cheer partnership.
  • Produce and manage the Food Matrix to ensure that staff, volunteers, teams and working functions are provided with appropriate meals.
  • Manage the Aquarium Fan Night event.
  • Working with college bands, cheer, and mascots
  • Manage the NFF Hall of Fame program with our CFO.
  • Lead registration and gift efforts of our annual golf tournament as well as assisting other areas of the tournament.
  • Fulfill specific sponsorship elements and agreements related to events as needed by our sales department.
  • Work with our marketing team to assist with the signage and print material needed for your events.
  • Responsible for contract negotiations, managing vendors and overall customer and client relations as needed for your events.
  • Assist with any game management roles as needed.
  • Provide assistance and manage additional events, activities, and roles as assigned throughout the year.
  • Other project work as assigned by Senior Management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Intern

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A candidate must possess ALL the following qualifications to be considered for this position.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. Experience managing a volunteer program is required. One to three years of event coordination.
Special Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication.
Computer/Software Skills: Complete knowledge of Microsoft applications including MS Windows, PowerPoint and Excel. Experience in using Rosterfy to manage a volunteer program is required.
Other Skills and Abilities: Experience with hotels, hospitality rooms, and food & beverage with a variety of events. Understanding that working long hours, weekends, and holidays away from family will be needed at times.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Extensive walking, lifting, and physical demands are present on event and preparation days.
