What to Expect
The Director, Creative Video Content assists in the recruiting, retention and motivation efforts of the Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (“AWPAA”) Division I FBS football program specifically through producing all recruiting videos, creating weekly and year-end motivational and highlight videos, and acquiring necessary content (e.g., games, practices, workouts, events, etc.) for product creation. The Director, Creative Video Content will stay current on emerging video-graphic methods, technology, and equipment to effectively elevate media products locally and across social media platforms. The Director, Creative Video Content must uphold the standards of excellence established by the Head Football Coach and all the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the United States Military Academy (“USMA”), AWPAA, the American Conference (“Conference”), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”).
What You'll Do
40% Highlight Films
- Create or direct the creation of other video requests to include weekly instructional videos for coaches, social media videos and individual player highlights.
- Shoot, edit and create recruiting and motivational videos (e.g., daily practice and workout, game, season and others as requested).
- Conceptualize and originate creative themes, storylines, and visual styles for video content, requiring advanced artistic skill and originality.
- Recommend new equipment and technology for highlight films to stay current with competition and industry trends.
30% Media Production
- Work with Executive Director, Player Personnel and/or Chief of Staff AWPAA Athletic Communications and AWPAA Creative Services on content creation, creative development and execution of the game products including Friday night highlights, win reel and uniform reveal.
- Work with the Director, Video Operations, Football Operations and hotel staff during team travel.
- Responsible for helping create social media content that is an appropriate representation of the USMA brand and is compliant with USMA and AWPAA policies and standards.
- Coordinate with gameday network producers to gather necessary content materials.
- Produce the season highlight film and video needs for the year-end banquet dinner.
15% Recruiting Support
- Coordinate with Player Personnel department to provide video support during official and unofficial visits, junior days, or any other recruiting event.
- Produce video content as necessary for social media and direct messaging to recruits.
10% Organization and Leadership
- Work with Executive Director, Player Personnel and/or Chief of Staff to recruit, train, schedule, and manage a team of cadet film volunteers and/or interns.
- Create daily manager duties to ensure the mission is successfully accomplished with little to no mistakes.
- Responsible to evaluate individual and unique talents of the cadets and interns and manage them accordingly.
- Provide inputs on building the right film team for gameday execution.
- Create a balance between professional development of cadet film volunteers and a safe atmosphere that promotes manager retention.

AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would AWPAA consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
