What to Expect
The Coordinator, Operations & Coaching is responsible for supporting the Head Men’s Rugby Coach by coaching Cadet-athletes, recruiting, monitoring Cadet-athletes’ academic progress, scheduling, managing travel, and general Cadet-athletes support and oversight. This position reports to the Head Men’s Rugby Coach. All the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the United States Military Academy (“USMA”), Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (“AWPAA”), the Rugby East Conference (“Conference”), and the College Rugby Association of American (“CRAA”). 

What You'll Do
35% Team Operations 
  • Support the planning and execution of all daily and weekly team logistics.
  • Assist with equipment coordination, facility readiness, and inventory oversight.
  • Coordinate travel logistics and contribute to professional game day operations.
  • Serve as a liaison for internal communications and external relationships.
  • Help plan and deliver events such as recruit visits, camps, and team functions.
25% Coaching & Player Development 
  • Assist in the design and execution of training sessions.
  • Support leadership development of cadet athletes.
  • Facilitate individual skill work, film review, and feedback integration.
  • Maintain tempo, structure, and professionalism during all training blocks.
20% Scouting & Analysis
  • Lead the creation of opponent scouting reports and weekly video previews.
  • Conduct film analysis and build educational film reviews aligned with tactical priorities.
  • Present research insights to coaching staff and contribute to strategy sessions.
15% Recruiting Support 
  • Help develop recruiting materials and outreach content.
  • Maintain a recruit database and assist with communication.
  • Coordinate and host on-campus recruit visits.
5% Other Duties as Assigned.

This position will be housed within the AWPAA, which is a non-profit corporation organized to manage and support the 30 intercollegiate athletic programs at the Academy. The AWPAA mission is to recruit, educate, train and inspire leaders of character who are committed to the Army Values through an extraordinary NCAA Division I athletic experience.
