What to Expect
The Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (“AWPAA”) Assistant Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, promotional plans, and game presentation initiatives to enhance the fan experience and support revenue generation, particularly through digital and email marketing. This role requires a motivated, organized, and team-oriented professional who will collaborate closely with departments such as ticketing, creative services, and event operations to ensure seamless event execution. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement, the Assistant Director, Marketing & Fan Engagement will contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the unit.

What You'll Do
30% Sport Specific Marketing & Fan Engagement
  • Develop and implement marketing, promotions and game presentation plans with the goal of increasing ticket sales, game attendance, and improving the fan experience as the primary contact for Hockey, Wrestling, and Women’s Lacrosse. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    1. Working with coaching staff;
    2. Developing, writing and implementing marketing plans and strategies;
    3. Developing public address scripts and video board rundowns;
    4. Collaborating with the group sales staff on group experiences and promotions; and
    5. Design marketing materials, including social media graphics, flyers, video board graphics, etc.
20% Community & Campus Engagement Strategy
  • Coordination and strategic planning with various on-post departments and organizations, including Cadet spirit groups, to increase the reach and awareness of AWPAA throughout the West Point and surrounding Hudson Valley communities. This includes special promotions for select Olympic Sports, especially Army-Navy and Army-Air Force competitions.
20% Football Gameday Experience & Event Coordination
  • Football gameday responsibilities include oversight of the pregame fan fest area, Black Knight Alley fan fest area, along with assisting in on-field presentations, including at the annual Army-Navy football game.
10% Internship Program Support
  • Assist in the supervision and development of marketing interns in-office and at events.
10% Youth Engagement & Membership Growth
  • Lead and advance the Black Knight Buddies focusing on increasing membership and revenue.
10% Administrative Responsibilities 
  • Ensure all marketing efforts are in accordance with USMA, NCAA and Conference regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage marketing inventory.
  • Adhere to all department-wide management controls and participate in training as required.
  • Perform budget planning and various administrative duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Can Offer
$45,000 - $48,000
This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries that AWPAA believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted position. AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would AWPAA consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
