The College Football Hall of Fame Foundation, in conjunction with Kia, will fund five scholarships, worth $5,000, made available to high school seniors who will be attending a Historically Black College or University and students currently enrolled at a Historically Black College or University.
The objective of this program centers around helping students afford the costs associated with attending college. Additionally, the College Football Hall of Fame, in conjunction with Kia, recognizes the need to help provide resources towards preserving Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
Selection Criteria for needs based scholarships for college students. Applicants for the Program must meet the following criteria:
- Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need
- Intended major in one of the following disciplines: Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Medicine, Physics, Applied Sciences, Material Sciences; Technology – Aeronautics, Automotive Sciences, Computer Sciences, Mechanical Sciences, Technical/Vocational Majors (involving machines, computers, technologies); Engineering– All engineering fields, such as Applied, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, etc.; Arts – Design, Graphics, Architecture, Fashion, Fine Arts, Studio Arts, Motion Pictures/Television; Entertainment Arts (other design- driven arts); Math – Math, Applied Math, Statistics.
Furthermore, there will be an effort to prioritize football student-athletes wishing to continue participating at the collegiate level, especially if their academic focus is related to the STEM disciplines. There will be a competitive selection process to include an application, essay (please upload under "Cover Letter" section), resume, and interview.
