Associate Director of Finance and Business Operations

Position Overview: The Associate Director of Finance and Business Operations is responsible for directly assisting the Chief Financial Officer with the oversight of all financial and business activities within the organization. This role involves managing financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, business operations, and driving operational efficiencies to support the company’s goals and objectives. The Associate Director will work closely with senior leadership to ensure the organization is financially sound, operationally efficient, and well-positioned for sustainable growth.

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management
  • Lead all accounting and financial functions including the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Conduct financial analysis through analyzing variances and providing recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts and reconcile all general ledger accounts.
  • Develop and manage cash flow projections.
  • Lead audits and collaborate with external auditors to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with outside tax consultants for preparation of state and federal tax returns, and process 1099 forms as required.
  • Ensure effective internal controls and risk management procedures are implemented and in place.

2. Business Operations and Human Resource Management
  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations, ensuring the efficient management of resources, systems, and processes.
  • Liaison with outside counsel on contracts, waivers and other legal business.
  • Implement and streamline operational policies and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and drive operational improvements.
  • Oversee and manage human resource functions including administering payroll and employee benefits.
  • Oversee relationship with national championship stadium concessionaire; collaborate on all food and beverage menus, pricing, and logistical operations for suites, clubs, and back-of-house working areas.

3. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in both finance and operations.
  • Lead initiatives to implement new financial systems and tools that enhance operational efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Drive the development and integration of technology solutions to improve business processes.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in finance and business operations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent understanding of business operations, including insurance, HR, IT, and administrative processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and other financial software.
  • High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
