The Connecticut Sun is seeking a passionate and experienced Entertainment Team Coach to lead and choreograph all three Connecticut Sun dance teams for the 2026 season: Shine Squad (adult team), Junior Dance Team, and the Sunsationals ("senior" team). This individual will play a key role in creating high-energy, engaging, and professional performances that enhance the overall game day experience and represent the Connecticut Sun brand with excellence both on and off the court. The Connecticut Sun Entertainment Team Coach will report to the Game Presentation Manager.
Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncludes but not limited to:
- Choregraph engaging routines for all three CT Sun entertainment teams (Shine Squad, Junior Dance Team, Sunsationals)
- Curate diverse hip hop routines that align with the CT Sun brand and entertainment themes throughout the season
- Select and cut appropriate music for performances
- Lead practices and rehearsals
- Maintain a positive and inclusive team culture
- Oversee all dance teams throughout each game day including pre-game rehearsal on the court
- Coordinate appearances/community events involving the dance teams
- Collaborate closely with the Game Presentation Manager to ensure seamless integration of performances
- Manage attendance, scheduling, and communication with all team members
- Plan and execute team auditions, team selection, and uniform coordination.
Qualifications
- Proven experience choreographing and coaching hip hop
- Previous experience coaching or directing a professional, collegiate, or youth dance team is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for live entertainment, sports, and creating a memorable experience for fans
Availability Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be available to attend the auditions for all three entertainment teams on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at Mohegan Sun
- Must be available for all home games and practices throughout the 2026 Connecticut Sun season
- Must be available for Media Day in late April 2026
