About the Position

Golden State is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant to support the Public Affairs team. In this role, you will help coordinate and execute public affairs projects across Golden State properties, including the Golden State Warriors, Golden State Valkyries, Chase Center and Thrive City. Additionally, you will assist with government relations, neighborhood engagement, and external relations efforts that connect Golden State to key communities and stakeholders in San Francisco and Oakland.

This position plays an important role in supporting relationship management with elected officials and community leaders, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring the smooth execution of Public Affairs and organization wide initiatives across all verticals. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable representing Golden State at events while maintaining strong operational and administrative discipline. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Public Affairs.

This is a full-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coordination and administrative support for the Public Affairs team across government relations, neighborhood engagement, and external relations efforts in San Francisco and Oakland
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events, campaigns, and game-day activations; coordinate guests, manage event logistics, and represent the team at events as needed
  • Represent Public Affairs and support external relations by managing relationships with elected officials, community leaders, and key partners, including invitations, attendance tracking, and follow-up communication
  • Oversee administrative aspects of charitable and community contribution program, including event sponsorships, community contributions, ticket management, and department inventory needs
  • Draft neighborhood updates, stakeholder communications, and event briefings
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Community, Marketing, Event Services, Group Sales, Public Relations and others) to ensure alignment and smooth execution of cross-functional initiatives
  • Track and manage project timelines, deliverables, and action items to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain accurate documentation for projects, including meeting notes, task lists, and reports
  • Handle departmental administrative needs, including invoicing, expense tracking, and calendar management
  • Monitor local legislation and policy updates as assigned to support organizational awareness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Political Science/Communications, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of project coordination or administrative support, preferably in public affairs, government relations, community or external affairs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the organization professionally with community leaders and elected officials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Asana and Salesforce is a plus
  • Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively with peers, leadership, and community partners
  • Dependable, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a high level of discretion and professionalism

  • $23.00 - 25.00 per hour + Bonus
