The Utah Jazz are seeking to add an energetic and charismatic Emcee and HYPE personality to assist with game day, on and off-court promotions and public address announcements. The perfect candidate has an aptitude for improvisation, great memorization skills, an outgoing and engaging personality that is relatable and engaging to fans and a deep understanding of sports entertainment and the Utah Jazz brand. This is a seasonal part time position.

All applicants are required to submit a demo reel or equivalent video outlining their acting/improv ability, on-camera presence and speaking ability. All reels/videos need to be submitted with your application as a hyperlink on YouTube. Reel content should highlight an applicants' on-camera presence and ease of interaction. Sports/News/Marketing promotion related content is strongly encouraged. Reels should also demonstrate an applicant's knack for comedic timing, improvisational agility and personality.
A professional resume is also required for all submissions prior to consideration.

  • Serve as a supporting Emcee and HYPE voice for all in-arena Utah Jazz home games
  • Assist with on and off-court promotions/activations during Utah Jazz home games
  • Ability to engage with our fans and help in the planning and execution of partner promotions
  • Create excitement and positive energy using both voice and body language
  • Relate to and engage with fans
  • Identify prospective on-camera fans for promotions
  • Be a student, be a teacher, be a leader
  • Be a good teammate, contribute positively to a winning culture, and be respectful
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Charismatic, energetic personality
  • A deep understanding of tone, tamber, resonance and general voice practice/applications
  • Television, radio, or public speaking experience a must
  • Previous host/emcee experience preferred
  • Must be able to project into a microphone and perform in front of large audiences
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Able to take creative direction and a willingness to evolve
  • Working knowledge of basketball rules and regulations preferred
  • Ability to adjust and adapt quickly
  • MUST attend all required & scheduled rehearsals & production meetings
  • Must be available for all AM production meetings/zoom calls on game days
  • Must arrive be able to arrive at Arena by the specified time on home game-days
  • Timeliness is non-negotiable
  • Must be able to work with others in fast paced situations
  • Must leverage a professional and palatable personal brand that aligns with the organizational values of the Utah Jazz
  • Must be able to work ALL Utah Jazz home games and watch parties including preseason, season, playoffs, post-season, holidays, nights and weekends when required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess requirements of any given situation
  • The person must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • This person must be able to travel quickly in-arena distances traversing multiple floors/levels
  • This person must be able to lift and move/transport 25 lbs
