Dishwasher (Part-Time)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Dishwasher reports directly to the Senior Sous Chef, with oversight from the Chef de Cuisine and Director of Culinary Nutrition. The Dishwasher is responsible for properly washing, organizing and putting away dishes in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. The right candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. The Dishwasher should be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment. This position is part-time, $18/hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Dish & Kitchen Sanitation
- Run dirty dishes, pans, and utensils from the line to the dish area promptly to keep stations clear during service.
- Properly wash, sort, stack, and store plateware, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner.
- Clean kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and grills, using approved cleaning products and chemicals in accordance with established sanitation standards.
- Ensure dishwasher and sink chemical/detergent levels are properly stocked and notify leadership (management) when supplies are running low and need to be reordered.
- Keep the dish area free of clutter, clean, and organized throughout the shift.
- Change water in machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels.
- Maintain clean, dry floors throughout the shift.
- Maintain garbage and recycling throughout the shift.
- Follow daily dish cleaning duties and standard sanitary procedures, including sweeping, cleaning surfaces, and proper covering and storage of food items.
Kitchen Support & Food Preparation
- Assist in food preparation, including vacuum sealing prepared items, peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables, portioning items for service, and other duties as requested by the Senior Sous Chef or culinary team.
- Assist in the timely storage of food deliveries.
- Maintain dry storage areas, walk-in fridges and freezers, and the organization and cleanliness of storage shelves.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents to ensure follow-up and prevention.
- Adhere to all applicable safety requirements, including blood-borne pathogen, infection control, hazardous materials, and fire safety procedures.
- Operate with an emphasis on safety for employees, teams, and guests.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Arrive on time, in proper attire, and ready to work at the start of each shift.
- Maintain timely and reliable communication through Slack, email, text, phone, and other established channels.
- Support the Performance Nutrition Staff and demonstrate flexibility to fill open shifts as needed.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, adaptability, and situational awareness in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Receive and respond constructively to feedback while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of player and coaching staff information in accordance with applicable policies and standards.
WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both verbally and in writing.
- This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
- This person must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., repetitive arm, hand and finger movements, occasional bending and reaching.
- Will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, such as when working near ovens, dishwasher, or retrieving food from freezers.
- Manual dexterity required to use knives and kitchen appliances.

EXPERIENCE AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1 year of dishwasher experience.
- Hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred.
- ServSafe Food Handlers permit, within 30 days of hire.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse environment.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs, including evenings and weekends.
