JOB SUMMARY:

The Utah Jazz are looking for an Accounting Specialist to strengthen the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions within the finance department. This is a full-time, in-office position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enter and/or upload invoices into accounting software.
• Review invoices and ensure proper coding and internal approvals are documented prior to payment.
• Assist with the creation, review, and maintenance of new and existing customer and vendor profiles within accounting software.
• Review account statements received from vendors for accuracy and consistency with internal records to ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment..
• Maintain accurate customer account balances by recording physical check and electronic payments and by communicating with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries to record vendor activity in accounting software.
• Assist with the monthly reconciliation for the accounts payable and accounts receivable balance sheet accounts.
• Ensure shared email inboxes related to accounts payable and accounts receivable are organized and respond to inquiries or escalate internally depending on complexity.
• Manage and address internal requests and inquiries related to vendor payments and corporate purchasing cards.
• Provide ad hoc reporting related to vendor payments as requested.
• Support year-end information reporting for taxes.
• Provide supporting documentation for audits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
• Prior accounts payable and accounts receivable experience preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, Salesforce, and Wide Orbit preferred.
• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.

• This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
