Kings University starts October 2025, and runs through the 25-26 season!         

Job Summary: The Retail Marketing Intern is responsible for providing a wide range of support to the Retail Marketing team throughout the season. This position will be at the forefront of an exciting brand as we create and execute innovative campaigns and initiatives. In addition, the Retail Marketing Intern would gain exposure to a variety of other Sacramento Kings marketing initiatives, including campaigns with corporate partnerships and fan engagement.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Effectively works with our Creative department to execute retail marketing and media campaigns.

  • Assists with partnered brand deliverables and activations including printed collateral, email construction and content promotion.

  • Assists in the development, planning and execution of retail events and merchandise releases.

  • Supports targeted retail email campaigns to drive awareness and revenue.

  • Proactively assists with Retail Marketing and Creative Services projects for internal clients.

  • Supports the development, planning and execution of marketing promotions on social platforms.

  • Contributes innovative content ideas that elevate brand storytelling and enhance retail campaign performance across digital platforms.

  • Stays current on retail, social, and content trends to bring forward fresh, creative strategies that drive engagement and revenue.

  • Collaborates with the Team Store operations team to ensure branding is up to date in all store locations and creative deadlines are met.

  • Assist with creative and copy requests for our eComm storefront.

  • Anticipates hurdles, solves problems, and offers solutions. 

  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with all departments.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Manager, Retail Marketing.

     

Qualifications:

  • College Majors preferred in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively about solutions to complex problems.

  • Desire for continued learning and development.

  • Exceptional writing and proofing skills.

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook a must.

  • Previous experience using project management software preferred.

  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments

  • Passion for the sports and entertainment industry

  • Available to work up to 25 hours per week in person, including some nights and weekends

To qualify for Kings University internships, you must be:

  • Currently enrolled in college or have graduated within 12 months

  • Able to commute to the downtown Sacramento office

  • Able to work up to 25 hours per week

Interns will be compensated $16.50 per hour and receive benefits such as California Paid Sick Leave, discounts on Sacramento Kings merchandise, and free parking.
