Job Summary: The Photography Intern will support the Sacramento Kings Photography Department through event coverage, game-day support, photography operations, asset management, and studio productions. This role is designed to expand the department's ability to cover organizational events, community initiatives, partnerships, and fan experiences while maintaining high standards of photography and content organization.
Program Period: July 2026 – End of 2026-27 Sacramento Kings Season
Responsibilities:
Photography Operations & Asset Management
- Ingest, organize, archive, and deliver photography assets
- Assist with photo requests and asset distribution
- Support ScorePlay organization and photo management
- Maintain photography equipment and inventory
Event Coverage
- Independently photograph assigned events and deliver edited galleries
- Cover player appearances, community events, youth clinics, sponsor activations, partnership events, charity events, and organizational functions
Game Day Support
- Capture fan experience, arena atmosphere, sponsor activations, hospitality spaces, community moments, behind-the-scenes content, and special requests
- Support the Photography Department by documenting elements of game day outside of live game action
Studio & Team Store Photography
- Assist with studio productions and Team Store photography
- Support lighting setups, shoot logistics, and merchandise photography
- Assist on photo shoots and independently cover select photography assignments as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in photography fundamentals and camera operation
- Experience shooting live events, sports, and/or concerts
- Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
- Ability to ingest, organize, edit, and export photography assets
- Strong organizational skills and understanding of photo archiving workflows
- Familiarity with professional photography equipment
- Experience assisting on photo shoots
- Studio lighting and production experience preferred
- Basic video capture and content creation experience preferred

To qualify for Kings University internships, you must be:

Currently enrolled in college or have graduated within 12 months

Able to commute to the downtown Sacramento office

Able to work up to 29 hours per week
Interns will be compensated $17.50 per hour and receive benefits such as California Paid Sick Leave, discounts on Sacramento Kings merchandise, and free parking.
