We are seeking experienced and highly motivated members to join the Valley Suns Communications Game Night Staff to assist team members for all Valley Suns home games.

The game night staff will assist the Valley Suns Communications Manager with the implementation of all the team’s communications/media relations efforts on game nights.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with the setup of the media work room
  • Issue credentials and passes to media, staff, families and guests
  • Distribute statistics to the media
  • Write, edit and distribute in-game reports, statistical memos, injury updates, etc.
  • Assist with compiling postgame material
  • Assist with researching statistical trends through the games and season
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We Need from Our Valley Suns Game Night Staff:

  • Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel on a computer
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Professional and personable demeanor and approach
  • Basic knowledge of the Valley Suns and basketball in general
  • Privy to confidential information that is not to be shared
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays for all Valley Suns home games
  • Indoor work
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
  • Extended periods of time standing and walking

Experience/ Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications or related fields such as Public Relations and Marketing required
  • Previous writing experience preferred
  • Experience in sports preferred

  • Ability to transit throughout the arena for long periods of time.
  • This position works mainly indoors, removed from extreme weather; exposure to weather is <5%
  • S-Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Must be able to carry on a conversation both on the phone and in-person.
  • Ability to Read, Write & Speak in English
