In conjunction with the Director of Security, our Security Manager will provide direction for and assist in providing a safe environment for our guests, employees and vendors at all times. You are responsible for carrying out arena policy and procedures while delivering a high level of customer service.

As a Security Manager, you will be responsible for the monthly scheduling, which includes building the Schedule Request form (hard copies and website), inputting data into spreadsheet, building schedules and crafting returns. Our Manager, will lead our events security as well as our staff at the arena. This includes but is not limited to crafting posting and briefing sheets, performing pre-event safety inspection, conducting briefings, responding to incidents, listening and resolving guest complaints and issues.

What we need from this role:
Event Responsibilities: This role leads the day-to-day operations of the Security Control Room. They will correlate and file the requests for the city emergency services staffing needs as directed by the scheduled monthly events. Based upon the event security requests from event promoters, build the security service estimates and balance the final event security service bills prior to submission for payment. They act as the liaison between the Phoenix Fire, First Responders (medical contractor), the ambulance provider and concert tour security and ensure all event related incident reports are completed in our reporting database (24/7 Software). The Manager will also compile and submit the Event Summary Report to the executive management staff.

Staffing Responsibilities: The Manager builds monthly staffing schedules, ensuring all event security staffing request are fulfilled and accurately scheduled as well as maintains the department website. They will contact event staff regarding scheduling needs and changes, ensuring all needed shifts are filled. The manager assists with creating and building ID badges for all company hires.

Our Security Managers supervise security staff, responding to emergency situations as the need arises. They enter and update the department database as needed, including staff information, as well as assist with payroll as needed for event staff. The manager counsels security staff and handle disciplinary action as the need arises. This role will manage the performance evaluation process, giving performance evaluations to Lead Officers and assisting Lead Officers in administering.

They will assist the Director with the development and maintenance of the Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Operation Plans and other security procedures as deemed appropriate.

Training and Hiring Responsibilities: Security Managers conduct interviews and participate in the selection process of potential candidates. Managers will assist with the facilitation new hire classroom training and provision of the required computer training to all staff.


Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the Liquor Law (T.E.A.M. alcohol training) information.
  • High School Diploma is required, a Bachelor’s Degree is helpful
  • 5 years event security experience
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

What can I expect?
While there is a set schedule, employees must be able to work according to the business needs, which includes evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime. Due to the nature of our business, the employee will work in an environment with large crowds and loud noises to include sporting and concert events.

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (pounds) occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Able to carry objects of 30 yards without assistance. This position is subject to reaching, twisting, kneeling and climbing (ladders and stairs) as well as extreme heights to perform the main duties of the role. Possess the dexterity to handle radios, vehicle screening mirrors, hand wands and other essential equipment. Able to conduct multiple foot patrols of the facility without assistance and stand at fixed posts for several hours at a time in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to assist guests and staff in emergencies, including pushing wheelchairs and/or picking up, dragging or otherwise moving persons in distress.
