We are seeking a motivated Basketball Database Engineering Intern to join our team. In this role, you will support the database engineering group in building out core architecture that powers analytics for both the basketball operations department and front office. You will gain hands-on experience in requirements gathering, implementation, QA, and deployment of projects, while collaborating closely with a team committed to innovation and excellence. This is a seasonal (spring semester) internship position that will run from January through May 2026.

What You Will Do:
  • Assist with the design and build of database architecture to support the Basketball Analytics group and the front office.
  • Participate in daily standups and collaborate with engineers to deliver project milestones.
  • Gather requirements, implement solutions, test functionality, and help deploy production-ready code.
  • Contribute to documentation, version control, and project management tools to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Support ancillary tasks and initiatives to strengthen the database engineering function.
  • Other tasks to support the Database Engineering team.
What We Need from Our Basketball Database Engineering Seasonal Intern:
  • Strong foundation in SQL and Python.
  • Experience working with relational databases and/or data warehouse technologies (i.e. Snowflake).
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as Jira, Git, Bitbucket, and Confluence.
  • Exposure to AWS services (Lambda, S3, etc.) preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Experience/ Education Requirements:
  • Pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Prior experience (academic or professional) in data engineering, database management, or related work is a plus.
