Account Executive, Business Development

Job Summary:
The Account Executive, Business Development is responsible for driving new business revenue across all Player 15 group assets, with a primary focus on the Phoenix Mercury. This full-menu sales position will have revenue expectations across a diverse product mix including but not limited to ticket plans, groups, suite rentals, and lease products. Success in this role requires commitment to elevated daily sales activity, disciplined pipeline development, and a growth-mindset centered ongoing training and development. This position reports directly to the Director, Business Development and plays a key role in driving the growth of the organization’s ticketing portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new membership and ticket revenue across all Player 15 Group properties through outbound sales efforts including phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, and in-person presentations.
- Consistently exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals and sales activity minimum standards.
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities through lead generation, referrals, networking events, and market research.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects while tracking all activity using internal systems (e.g., CRM, etc.).
- Provide best-in-class service throughout the sales process by effectively communicating product value, handling objections, and setting up clients for long-term success.
- Maintain accurate and detailed notes and client information within internal systems to ensure seamless communication and follow-up.
- Attend games and events to host prospects, conduct in-person appointments, and create upsell opportunities.
- Support department-wide initiatives that contribute to continuous improvement, sales culture, and innovation in membership strategy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 1+ year(s) experience in a dedicated outbound sales position, preferably within the sports and entertainment industry
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Demonstrated success in outbound sales environments with a high level of daily activity and persistence.
- Coachable and open to feedback, with a strong desire for continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Highly process-driven with the ability to follow established sales workflows and pipeline management practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records in CRM systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging prospects via phone, email, and in-person.
- Competitive mindset paired with a team-oriented attitude and resilience in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs while maintaining a customer-first approach.
