SUMMARY
The Safety & Security Officer is responsible for providing a firm security presence at the main entrances for Pacers Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) campus which include Gainbridge Fieldhouse and Ascension St. Vincent Pacers Training Facility. This position is additionally responsible for answering the switchboard, which is the main telephone number for PS&E and greeting visitors. This position sets the tone for the high standards and quality service we provide to all guests and employees of PS&E.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer switchboard during business hours, respond to callers’ requests and refer callers to appropriate employees in a polite and friendly manner.
- Greet and welcome guests and employees in a professional, enthusiastic, outgoing, and friendly manner utilizing our “ELEVATE” principles during business hours and provide appropriate information.
- Issue and verify all visitor credentials across the entire PS&E campus.
- Communicate directly with security operations centers for all security-related needs.
- Deter suspicious or dangerous activity and individuals.
- Request appropriate emergency services response when appropriate.
- Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times.
- Provide a strong customer service presence when dealing with callers, visitors, and employees.
- Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the buildings as well as all entities of Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
- Manage the Lost & Found process for the PS&E campus, including maintaining the items and tracking them in the system.
- Assist with emergency response as needed, being aware of Pacers Sports & Entertainment emergency procedures.
- Respond to reported medical emergencies, providing first aid until emergency responders arrive when necessary.
- Organize safety escorts for employees walking to their vehicles.
- Prepare various written reports including incident reports and daily logs.
- Listen and respond to radio communications.
- Understand and perform functionalities of the internal video management system – Genetec.
- Attend all required training that occurs annually.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all PS&E policies and Security Department rules and standard operating procedures
- In every position, each employee is expected to align with PS&E's mission and core values along with actively participating in company-sponsored community outreach programs.
- Be able to perform the duties of any In-House Security position.
- Must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.

AVAILABILITY:
- Primary schedule for this role is Monday through Friday from 08:30am to 05:00pm. Must have flexibility to work 8:00am – 6:00pm.
- Deemed essential personnel and may be required to work holidays and company-wide office closed days.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in an office environment
- Strong phone skills
- Strong customer service skills and focus
- Excellent interpersonal skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from manager, clients, customers, and the public.
REASONING ABILITY:

- Ability to interpret oral and written directions as well as building maps.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Employee should have a good working knowledge of and a high level of competency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Windows. Other necessary proficiency required with Acrobat, Apple tools, and social media platforms such as X and Facebook. Required to use PS&E approved technology based on position and business needs. Familiarity with the internet as a research tool is needed. Be able to perform the computer functionalities of security technology applications including Genetec and 247 incident management.

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate and the noise level in Gainbridge Fieldhouse / game environment is usually loud. The stress level may become high during certain times of the year.
