Pacers Sports & Entertainment is seeking a Basketball Operations Coordinator to support the Noblesville Boom throughout the G-League season with basketball-related duties. They will work with the Noblesville Boom front office during the G-League off-season to assist with various roster construction and scouting projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager on roster construction and scouting projects throughout the offseason. These projects may include traveling with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager for scouting opportunities (Portsmouth Invitation Tournament, NBA Summer League, etc.), watching and breaking down film for scouting reports, researching local tryout player eligibility and communicating with agents, handling off-season team gear needs (receiving / organizing), assisting with travel preparation, and more.
  • Work with the Assistant General Manager and Team Travel Manager on all team travel-related schedules such as but not limited to coordinating team flights, team hotels, ground transportation needs for road trips, and act as the point of contact for the in-market team hotel.
  • Work as the main point of contact for all player housing needs such as but not limited to assisting with player move-in and move-out dates and acting as the liaison between the housing company and players.
  • Assist the Sports Performance Coach with catering needs such as but not limited to vetting potential caterers on road trips and helping set up team meals in the locker room.
  • Update the G-League Basketball Operations portal with team travel information (flights, hotels, road practice schedule, bus trips, itineraries, etc.), staffing details, and game day information (starting line-up, injuries, two-way player activation, etc.).
  • Coordinate all team equipment needs such as but not limited to off-season equipment organization and inventory management, working with the General Manager on all equipment orders, communicating with the players and staff on all equipment needs, and maintaining updated records of all equipment in-season.
  • Work with coaches on daily practice needs for players and the team while at home and when traveling to away games.
  • Run the scoreboard and shot clock to ensure supplies are ready when needed (whistles, drinks, towels, cones, playboards, etc.).
  • Perform general upkeep and maintenance of the player locker room and team equipment storage areas.
  • Input basketball-related data within a web-based database and assist with placing department orders through approved vendors.
  • Acquire scouting credentials and tickets when coordinating travel for the basketball division in collaboration with the travel manager.
  • Coordinate overall department organization such as maintaining player files, assisting with filing and administration of departmental contracts, and distributing mail and packages to basketball staff on a timely basis.
  • Assist coaching staff with multiple on-court duties, including player development and working with video staff on film-related needs.
  • Support basketball staff with coordinating and distributing equipment, handling laundry, assisting with pre-travel, player housing, cars, and other business matters.
  • Handle visiting team requests such as locker room, laundry, drinks, towels, and practice needs. Ensure visiting locker room is set up accurately and stocked.
  • Meet visiting team upon arrival to practices and game day shoot-arounds and set up court and locker rooms prior to visiting team arrival.
  • Lead all aspects of the team attendant program, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling game assignments, and providing ongoing training for approximately 20 employees.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily responsibilities of the basketball operations intern.
  • Travel on road trips when necessary to assist with team travel responsibilities such as loading equipment, doing laundry, and coordinating bus transportation.
  • Act as the point of contact between team business operations for all scheduling purposes, both in- and out-of-season.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Four-year college degree, plus some administrative or related experience required. This position requires someone who has strong organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities, excellent communications skills and strong digital literacy (Microsoft Office). Must be able to maintain confidential information.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Employee should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Synergy, SportsCode and other systems. General data entry is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from manager, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Knowledge to apply basic mathematical concepts.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY:
Employee must make independent decisions and exercise discretion and independent judgment.
