The Indiana Pacers are seeking a Sports Science & Biomechanics Coordinator who will work as part of a collaborative sports medicine and performance team to enhance player performance and advance sports science strategies within the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide expert advice on all technologies related to player physical tracking / testing and advise sports medicine and sports performance staff on the use and purchase of such systems.
  • Liaise with external technology providers around the implementation of selected player tracking and evaluation systems.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources including but not limited to baseline testing, load monitoring, and performance metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports reviewing all aspects of the team’s athletic development and sports science programs as requested in a timely manner.
  • Advance research and innovation in the fields of biomechanics, player load monitoring, and athlete performance.
  • Support the entire sports medicine department with research analysis and the provision of scientific evidence as requested.
  • Ensure that the appropriate recording and presentation of all physical data is in an accessible system that is not user-dependent (ex: player dashboard).
  • Engage with the performance data analyst to ensure an effective and cohesive approach with the sports performance staff.
  • Engage with the sports medicine, sports medicine, and performance analytics staff to ensure the successful implementation of all performance testing related equipment and technology.
  • Work closely with coaches, athletes, and other members of the sports medicine staff to implement sports science strategies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s and master’s degree in exercise science, sports science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sports science, research, and strength and conditioning in a high-performance environment.
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Performance and Sports Scientist (CPSS), or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (R, Python, SPSS), sports performance technology (Kinexon, Hawkins Force Plates), and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of evidence-based research, testing protocols, and the principles of athlete development.
