SUMMARY
The Assistant Event Services Manager is responsible for assisting all aspects of the Usher team, managing department equipment and technology, and providing support throughout the event lifecycle. This position will work events and a varied work schedule including evenings and weekends will be required. We're excited for you to join "The Team Behind the Team"!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as Assistant Manager of event usher department, supervising usher supervisors and staff. Build and foster an environment of high morale, high performance, high employee retention, and dedication to PS&E service values.
  • Lead scheduling operations for Usher team.  Activities include creating monthly event calendar, sourcing staffing for ancillary events, responding to team member inquiries regarding event timing information, and follow-up staff communication to accurate staffing levels.
  • Support the recruitment, hiring & training of event Usher personnel and supervisors. Ensure the team’s diversity is reflective of the Indianapolis community and capable of executing departmental responsibilities.
  • Must accurately maintain time and attendance records as well as generate reports as needed for events to include payroll, incident reports, and any other administrative duties related to assigned events.
  • In collaboration with Event Services Manager, address employee relations issues through coaching sessions and maintaining detailed documentation of infractions.
  • Maintain department equipment and inventory (i.e. uniforms, radios, ticket scanners, etc.) and communicate supply needs to Associate Director, Safety & Security for procurement.
  • Act as the Usher General Supervisor during selected events.
  • Along with, and supporting the Event Services Manager, , build, develop, analyze and implement operational budgets and capital expense budgets for the Usher area.
  • Participate in meetings as the need arises to facilitate duties of position/support other departments.
  • With the support of the Guest Services team, participate in activities to ensure service standards relating to the guest experience are met.
  • Coordinate event day operations for assigned events, working closely with the Event Coordinator, as well as partners, ensuring needs are fulfilled and the usher department is event-day ready.
  • Perform all job duties in alignment with Pacers Sports & Entertainment’s goals, service values, and mission statement.
  • Assist with emergency response, being aware of Pacers Sports & Entertainment emergency procedures as needed.
  • Understand relevant NBA/WNBA league security directives and mandates and assist in ensuring PS&E’s compliance during NBA/WNBA events.
  • Engage in PS&E sponsored and various other personal community outreach programs to ‘Serve Community”.
  • Have a full and complete understanding of the technology required to perform duties. Constantly learn and recommend new ways for technology to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of work.
  • Participate in training & continuing education and attend professional conferences as needed to maintain current with needs of position.
  • Must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years’ College or Technical School Background; AND/OR
  • Two (2) years’ experience in event/arena management, corporate safety, event or arena safety or security
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and general data entry. Ability to learn new systems and adapt to new technology.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret directions and technical diagrams.

Employee must deal with various internal and external constituents to solve problems and deliver projects on time with accuracy, integrity and with outstanding customer service.
