PERIODS WHEN NEEDED: Fall Semester/Spring Semester
HOURS REQUIRED:  20-30 hours per week and game nights
WHAT TO EXPECT: All resumes/applications will be reviewed by the Media Relations staff and may be invited for preliminary interviews. Applicants must provide own transportation for interview process. One week following the final interviews, the candidates will be selected and all applicants will be notified by phone, mail or e-mail.
CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS: Junior, senior or graduate-level student; media/public relations, communications, journalism majors. Strong writing and proofreading skills, interviewing experience, availability for long hours, strong communication skills (verbal and written), adaptability to an environment involving several simultaneous projects.  Computer knowledge a plus (Word, Excel, Internet).  NBA and overall basketball knowledge a plus.  Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 
  1.  Assist in game-day setup of media workroom and work credential table pregame.
  2. Acquiring postgame quotes from visiting coaches and/or players.
  3. Assist in statistical/historical compiling of information.
  4. Updating current statistics in Excel-based documents on a daily basis.
  5. Assisting in other departments when needed.
  6. Compiling news clips daily from internet sources, emails, newspapers, magazines, etc.
  7. Prepare packets/information for visiting team media
Interns in the Media Relations Department will assist in the coordination of all media relations aspects for the Indiana Pacers.  Interns will maintain news clip files, prepare information for visiting team media, assist in game night department functions including: media check-in, media area setup and obtaining postgame quotes.
