SUMMARY: 
The three main areas of responsibility as a part-time Fan Engagement Marketing intern with Pacers Sports & Entertainment are (1) community, (2) game-day, and (3) office. The Intern will be responsible for set up and tear down of fan engagement activities throughout the concourse and management of our promotional assets. Office responsibilities include researching appearance opportunities across Indiana, and maintaining promotional materials for game day and community giveaways. This internship provides several development opportunities within the Marketing department and is a great opportunity for anyone interested in beginning a career in the sports industry! 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.       Community Marketing Initiatives (e.g. Fan Van activation)
  • Actively engage with current and prospective fans using promotional strategies
  • Oversee our Fan Van calendar, including booking events, and interacting with our community partners
  • Travel to events in Indianapolis and surrounding communities
  • Set up, tear down, maintain, and facilitate fan engagement activities, including prize giveaways
2.       Game Day Execution
  • Set up and tear down fan engagement activities around the arena 
    • Prize giveaway stations
    • Pacemate photo booth
    • Pacemate autographs
    • Family fun activities
  • Coordinate game day DJs and other entertainers
  • Distribute special guest prize packs
  • Interact and communicate with Fan Zone members
3.       Office
  • General administrative responsibilities
  • Maintaining inventory of promotional materials 
  • Restocking and organizing prizes for game day giveaways 
  • Researching fan van opportunities across Indiana
  • Assisting marketing staff with special projects 
4.       Participating in discussions regarding marketing and promotional strategies
5.       Other Duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
An individual currently working toward a Business or Sports-focused degree with experience in a marketing, customer experience, or fan-facing role is preferred.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions and reports.  Ability to write reports, recaps, and correspondence with extremely high accuracy and attention to detail.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Managers, Clients, Customers, and the general public.  Ability to communicate and sell ideas to peers and executives.  Ability to create and deliver presentations to all levels of employees and upper management.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply common mathematical functions to develop activation schedules and prepare event recaps and reports.
 
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and make recommendations. 
 
PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able, through creative, logical and technical means, to see projects through to completion.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
This position requires the employee to be proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc. A strong understanding of social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other emerging channels, is also preferred.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
