A quick summary about the Sr. Video Editor/Producer role:

If you love the NBA and editing amazing long-form and short-form video content, this could be your next role.  As the Sr. Video Editor/Producer, you will be responsible for editing in a variety of different categories feature storytelling (long-form and short-form), hype videos, highlights, social responsibility features, and more. This content will be created for various Orlando Magic verticals, including all Orlando Magic social channels, Orlandomagic.com, YouTube, in-game presentation, and more.

 

What the Sr. Video Editor/Producer will do:
  • Serve as the Producer/Editor for Content Studio needs as assigned, with an emphasis on long-form and feature storytelling. Assignments may include but aren’t limited to:
    • Social media, in-game, Broadcast features
    • Community events
    • Marketing commercials
    • Loyal Blue promotional videos
    • Player Specific Documentary Series
  • Participate in the pre-production planning process by working with Content Studio Producers/Editors to determine technical specifications that will enhance post-production. Provide pertinent feedback to ensure expectations are set and provide post-shoot notes as applicable.
  • Oversee and participate in post-production tasks including audio, graphics, advanced color correction, grading, and finishing workflows that includes delivery and archival of all projects and features.
  • Design original After Effects projects with the ability to integrate into features and shows. (Please note, we ARE NOT looking for someone that can only use templates.)
  • Produce Livestreams in studio and arena utilizing OBS Studio that includes but not limited to:
    • Magic Insiders
    • Group Chat
    • Magic Gameday
    • Media Day
    • Lead post-production workflows and editing, often for digital and social media content
    • Coordinate delivery of completed content in correct formats for upload and playback to Orlando Magic social accounts, orlandomagic.com, FanDuel Sports broadcasts or in-arena use when assigned.
    • Responsible for the development of projects including generating ideas, researching, writing scripts and working with Content Studio management to assign staff and communicate desired needs and vision for projects.
    • Manage the set-up for studio for livestreams which includes setting up cameras and lighting.
    • Work with Digital Asset Management Coordinator to manage highlight database and facilitate footage request internally and externally.
    • Collaborate with Producers on Orlando Magic All-Access.
    • Research & ideate projects to develop a framework for future longform shows/podcasts that could be broadcast on Orlandomagic.com, Orlando Magic App, YouTube.
    • Partner with the Orlando Magic social and digital team on future projects.
    • Maintain organization of video assets with appropriate naming, by logging and archiving videos and data assets.
    • Lead A.I. initiative into how to use A.I. to increase efficiency in the post-production workflow and increase the quality of the final products.
    • All other duties as assigned.
       

      What the Sr. Video Editor/Producer needs to have:

      • Bachelor’s degree in video production, mass media, communications, digital technology, or equivalent work experience.
      • 5+ (five) years of post-production experience.
      • 5+ (five) years of Adobe Premiere and After Effects at an expert level is required, including design without the utilization of templates.
      • General NBA knowledge is required.
      • Strong knowledge of camera workflows/codecs (Sony FX3/FX6).
      • Experience with multi-format video production (16x9, 1x1, and 9x16).
      • Experience finishing 30-minute television shows or documentaries is preferred.
      • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
      • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
      • Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
      • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
      • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
      • Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
      • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
      • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
