A quick summary about the role:
The Development Manager manages OMYF’s Micro Grant Program, 50/50 raffle operations, online auctions, and Donation Xchange platform, while supporting major fundraising events including the Orlando Wine Festival & Auction and the OMYF Open. This role also supports fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, grant review coordination, nonprofit partner communications, reporting, and overall donor and fan engagement efforts in a fast-paced sports and nonprofit environment.
What the role will do:Fundraising
- Support the execution of annual fundraising campaigns and events.
- Manage the OMYF 50/50 raffle program during all Orlando Magic home games and select Orlando Solar Bears home games.
- Manage game day raffle operations including staff coordination, compliance procedures, sales support, reporting, and winner fulfillment.
- Manage the e-auction planning and execution, including online auction setup, item tracking, fulfillment coordination, and reporting.
- Lead the sourcing, procurement, and coordination of donated items, memorabilia, experiences, gift packages, and auction inventory from community partners, sponsors, and businesses.
- Help maintain fundraising inventory and tracking systems for auctions.
- Assist with fundraising events and campaigns including Orlando Wine Festival & Auction, OMYF Open, Employee Giving Campaign, Giving Tuesday, and other annual initiatives.
Grants & Community Investment Support
- Support grantmaking administration and nonprofit partner communications.
- Manage the Micro Grant process.
- Assist with grant review coordination, workshop support, and committee communications.
- Help track grant reporting and impact documentation requirements.
- Maintain organized records related to grant applicants, awards, and reporting.
Marketing & Communications Support
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on fundraising and promotional campaigns.
- Assist with content related to fundraising initiatives, auctions, raffles, and community impact efforts.
- Support email communications, newsletters, social media promotions, and fundraising outreach initiatives.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records within CRM and fundraising platforms.
- Track fundraising activity, raffle reporting, auction performance, and campaign metrics.
- Assist with financial reconciliation support and reporting documentation related to fundraising initiatives.
- Support organizational reporting and data management efforts.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, business, sports management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, sports entertainment, promotions, or related field required.
- Experience working events, activations, auctions, raffles, or community fundraising initiatives preferred.
- Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, fundraising platforms, or auction software preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
