This role works up to 28 hours a week during the summer (May-August) and will work 40 hours a week during September through May.

A quick summary about the Seasonal Full-time Arena Experience & Operations Assistant role:

This role works closely with the Arena Experience and Operations team to coordinate all facets of events in the Kia Center, with an emphasis on Magic events. The role will assist with maintaining the internal employee rewards and appreciation program, as well as creating and assisting with the launch of new initiatives and events for internal building staff. This position will assist in coordination for operations and security planning and will serve as a point of contact during Magic events. Position is responsible for assisting in managing an efficient, productive, and consistent working relationship between Orlando Magic and the Kia Center partners to deliver legendary experiences.

What the Seasonal Full-time Arena Experience & Operations Assistant will do:
  • Work closely with Arena Experience and Operations leadership as the liaison between all Orlando Magic staff and Kia Center building partners for building related issues on gamedays and non-gamedays.
  • Assist with oversight of all Kia Center operations, including acting as Manager on Duty as needed.
  • Support the Arena Experience and Operations Specialist with certain administrative aspects of the part-time game-night staff. 
  • Provide project support on most elements of L365, including but not limited to the Legendary Playmaker Program; participating in L365 meetings; and supporting the employee appreciation and retention program; etc.
  • Provide operational support for all non-game day Magic event and Magic game day parking.
  • Provide operational support for all game day preparations including detailed walkthroughs of each level of the Kia Center.
  • Assist with all projects regarding building access badges, access cards and oversized credentials.
  • Support the Arena Experience and Operations team as directed with security initiatives and coordination of security trainings.
  • Work with all Magic departments to ensure needs are met for and during game/event nights.
  • Schedule and conduct Kia Center tours as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
What the Seasonal Full-time Arena Experience & Operations Assistant needs to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 1 year experience of event operations experience required
  • Minimum 1-2 years of administrative experience required
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, time management skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong teamwork and team synergy skills required.
  • Willingness to work long and irregular hours including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary with a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department.
  • Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on the changing priorities of the department.

          Physical requirements
        • Position will be required to stand and be on feet for prolonged periods of time during event shifts.
        • Occasional lifting of heavier objects up to 40 lbs.+ necessary when setting up for events
