The role of Athletic Performance Coach / Human and Player Performance is vital as we maximize our players' physical development. You will help build and drive year-round programming that creates optimal conditions for talent to thrive.
 
Working with a multi-disciplinary staff, you will participate and support processes and systems that encourage physical growth and challenge player potential. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead athletic performance player care with The Oklahoma City Blue (G League) for approximately 6 months, then pivot to assist with Thunder (NBA) athletic performance programming for the remainder of the year
  • Execute and collaborate on player medical / performance case management, while communicating needed information to staff members, assistant coaches, etc.
  • Perform player and coach education sessions
  • Execute activities supporting player development
  • Support nutrition and supplement programming
  • Cultivate medical and performance outreach relationships and support research and development initiatives
  • Scout new research literature, trends, and methodologies in the medical and performance fields for idea generation
  • Serve as a role model for both players and staff in the areas of physical and emotional wellness
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) through the NSCA required
  • Experience working as a performance coach is preferred
  • Medical background such as a DPT and/or ATC credentials preferred
  • Experience working with athletes, coaches and support staff in a team environment is required
  • Expertise in rehabilitation, movement assessment, and performance training is required
  • Experience with performance and sport science technologies preferred
  • Experience protecting highly confidential information
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and talent for communicating (written and verbal) clear and effective messages with a variety of different partners
 
Additional details:
This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Senior Athletic Performance Coach / Human and Player Performance. Work schedule may include long hours on short notice as well as work on evenings, weekends and holidays. Domestic travel will be necessary, and a passport may be required.
