PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Director, Human Resources, plays a critical role in leading and shaping the people’s strategy of a fast-paced, dynamic sports organization. This position is ideal for a leader who is passionate about people, culture, and organizational excellence and can serve as a strategic partner in driving HR initiatives that support our values, growth, and performance. The Director, Human Resources, will oversee all aspects of human resources, ensuring compliance, strengthening employee engagement, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture. They will work closely with executive leadership to align HR strategy with organizational goals and support long-term success.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a trusted resource for leadership and employees, providing guidance on employee relations matters and promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Proactively identify trends and opportunities to enhance engagement, retention, and employee experience.
- Design, implement, and oversee employee engagement initiatives, including team-building programs, wellness efforts, and recognition strategies.
- Partner with leadership to support organizational development, change management, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing review of HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational values, industry best practices, and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and workplace safety standards.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and professional development programs to ensure a seamless and impactful experience for new hires and continued growth for existing employees.
- Support leadership in developing and retaining top talent through coaching, training, and performance management strategies.
- Analyze HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, assess effectiveness of programs, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Oversee HR systems, processes, and recordkeeping practices to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and operational efficiency.
- Partner cross-functionally to continuously improve HR workflows and infrastructure.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred.
- Five (5) years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or director-level responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leadership and influencing organizational strategy.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Professional certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Valid Nevada driver's license.
