POSITION SUMMARY:
The 3-time WNBA Champions Los Angeles Sparks are seeking an innovative, strategic, and revenue-driven Vice President of Ticketing to lead the organization's ticketing strategy and revenue generation efforts. As a member of the leadership team, the Vice President of Ticketing will oversee all aspects of ticket sales, service, retention, premium seating, group sales, fan development initiatives, and ticket operations. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Revenue. 

This position will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive ticketing strategy that drives sustainable revenue growth, expands the Sparks fan base, enhances the customer experience, and strengthens long-term relationships with members, partners, and the Los Angeles community. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven record of building high-performing sales organizations, developing talent, leveraging technology and data, and creating innovative revenue-generating programs within the sports and entertainment industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across all ticket types, including season memberships, partial plans, group sales, premium seating, suites, single-game tickets, special events, hospitality packages, premium experiences, theme nights, community partnerships and other revenue-generating programs to maximize revenue, attendance, and long-term fan engagement.
  • Establish annual revenue goals, sales plans, budgets, forecasts and performance benchmarks.
  • Monitor and analyze sale performance metrics, identifying areas of opportunity; develop and execute strategic programs, actions and campaigns as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the ticket sales and service team to achieve and exceed sales targets, while developing a high-performance culture based on accountability, teamwork and results.
  • Use market research, pricing models, inventory analysis, promotional performance, and revenue forecasting to optimize ticket pricing, inventory management, sales strategy, and financial outcomes.
  • Oversee ticket operations, including inventory management, ticket distribution, event builds, mobile ticketing, system enhancements, venue coordination, and compliance with league, venue, consumer protection, and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate across departments to create compelling sales campaigns and initiatives, optimize attendance and revenue across varying external stakeholders, and align sales strategies with overall business goals. 
  • Develop overall ticket sales process and sales tech stack; including CRM development, campaign management, sales reporting and sales strategy.
  • Oversee sales commission structure including strategic plan design, administration, & communication ensuring alignment with organization goals & priorities.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with corporate partners, community organizations, youth sports groups, tourism partners, league contacts, and industry stakeholders to expand sales opportunities and brand awareness.
  • Monitor industry trends, technology advancements, consumer behavior, and competitive market dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation, growth, and enhanced customer experience.
  • Represent the organization at league meetings, industry conferences, networking events, and community functions.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role will oversee all sales staff and ticket operations staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILTIES: 

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Marketing, communications or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
 
Work Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in ticket sales, ticket operations, revenue generation, or sports business.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading ticket sales and service teams.
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated success leading departments responsible for season memberships, premium sales, group sales, and customer retention.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative ticket sales strategies that increase attendance, membership sales, premium revenue, and customer retention.
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving significant ticket sales revenue growth within professional sports, entertainment, or live events.
  • Experience overseeing multimillion-dollar ticket revenue budgets and achieving aggressive sales goals.
  • Strong understanding of CRM platforms including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics or other customer relationship management systems, customer lifecycle management, digital sales strategies, revenue optimization, and data analytics. 
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing sales and service organizations demonstrating strong leadership, coaching, and talent development skills.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and the ability to translate data into developing pricing strategies, inventory management plans, and revenue forecasting models.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence reporting tools including experience with ticketing platforms such as Ticketmaster Archtics, SeatGeek, AXS, Paciolan, or similar systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead through a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional fan experiences and building lasting customer relationships.

 
Physical, Environmental Demands
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and all home games and major organizational events.
  • Occasional travel for league meetings, industry conferences, and business development opportunities.

Compensation commensurate with experience; minimum starting salary $165,000.00
