The 3-time WNBA Champion Los Angeles Sparks are seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to support the organization’s digital strategy across email/CRM, website management, paid media, analytics, and fan engagement initiatives. This role plays a key part in elevating the Sparks’ digital presence and driving revenue across ticketing, merchandise, community programs, and organizational initiatives. The position works closely with Sales, Partnerships, Community, and Marketing & Communications to ensure cohesive digital execution aligned with the Sparks’ brand. This position reports to the Director, Integrated Marketing & Content.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Email & CRM Marketing
- Build, schedule, write, and deploy email campaigns and automated journeys supporting ticket sales, membership, game promotions, community initiatives, and management and creation of Sparks newsletters
- Manage CRM segmentation, list management, and database upkeep to ensure accurate targeting and strong deliverability
- Monitor campaign performance and share insights to improve engagement, personalization, and conversion
- Support survey creation, distribution, and reporting; drive data collection efforts for fan feedback and Sparks database health
Website Management
- Manage day-to-day updates to the Sparks' website, ensuring accurate, timely, and compelling content to reflect organizational priorities
- Collaborate with internal departments to update, optimize, and maintain web pages
- Coordinate with the league’s digital team to ensure compliance with WNBA standards and best practices in working with staying ahead of trends
- Track website analytics and recommend improvements to content structure, navigation, and user experience
Paid Digital Media & Advertising Support
- Place, traffic, and monitor paid advertising campaigns including social media campaigns across Meta, Google, YouTube, and other digital channels
- Coordinate creative asset needs with internal content and design teams
- Tracks spend, pacing, and performance metrics to support campaign optimization
- Work with advertisers to traffic assets; manage broadcast marketing assets and ensure timely delivery of ticket sales and marketing messaging
Digital Analytics & Reporting
- Compile monthly and campaign-based performance reports across email, websites, paid media, and fan engagement platforms
- Analyze results and identify opportunities for improved targeting, messaging, and performance
- Support measurement of integrated campaigns, theme nights, and partner activations
Cross-Functional Marketing Support
- Support Integrated Marketing with digital deliverables for season launches, theme nights, community events, jersey releases, and WNBA initiatives
- Work closely with Partnerships to schedule and track digital partner obligations across email, web, and paid media
- Collaborate with Community Relations and Game Entertainment department to promote Sparks programs and community-facing content
- Support organizational initiatives and other duties as assigned
General Digital Operations
- Maintain organized digital content calendars aligned with Sparks marketing priorities
- Assist with operational needs related to CMS, CRM/email platforms, and digital marketing technology tools
- Stay informed on digital trends, WNBA updates, platform changes, and fan engagement best practices to introduce ideas for Sparks digital strategy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience in digital marketing, email/CRM, paid media, or website management
- Ability to compose marketing copy for newsletters, reads, and in-game assets clearly and concisely
- Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics, website CMS tools, and digital advertising platforms
- Familiarity with AXS and other ticketing platforms
- Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Marketing, Business Communications, PR preferred or related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in digital marketing, email/CRM, paid media, or website management
PREFERRED:
- Passion for women’s sports, basketball, and community engagement
- Experience within sports/entertainment digital ecosystems or familiarity with WNBA/NBA platforms preferred
- Sports team or league experience preferred
- Strong familiarity with Los Angeles market
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Available to work on-site for Sparks home games and events, including late hours and non-standard business times.
- Must be willing to relocate to Los Angeles, CA.
Compensation commensurate with experience; minimum starting salary $70,000
