Ticket Operations: Ticket Operations
General Description:
Manage the Toyota Center Box Office in the areas of customer service, supervision of part time employees, cash handling procedures, and processing ticket transactions. Ensure the daily operating functions of the Box Office are carried out according to policy and organizational requirements.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and schedule Box Office Associates.
  • Supervise part time staff which includes appraising performance; creating and maintaining employee recognition program, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing issues and regularly communicating with staff.
  • Develop and implement best practices for all box office sales done through the AXS ticketing system which include Houston Rockets games and 3rd party events at Toyota Center.
  • Open and close the box office during normal operating hours on non-event days.
  • Delegate day-to-day tasks to seasonal associates to achieve Ticket Operations departmental objectives.
  • Respond to written, verbal, and in-person customer inquiries.
  • Assist Ticket Operations management staff on various daily tasks.
  • Provide excellent service to external customers.
  • Balance cash drawings daily.
  • Assist with supervising the ticket office vault - prepare deposits, perform audits, maintain cash requirements.
  • Process payments using AXS ticketing system.

  • College degree preferred and 1-3 years experience in ticket/box office operations
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of AXS ticketing system or other computerized ticketing systems
  • Must be available to work event nights, weekends, a non traditional work week, game days and/or extended hours for special projects and events as needed
  • Excellent digital literacy including a proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be extremely flexible with the ability to handle high levels of stress
  • Must be multi-tasked oriented with great attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with pleasant phone etiquette
  • Able to adapt to a team player environment

Physical & mental requirements:
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
  • The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
  • The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
  • The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
