Job Purpose: Dallas Wings Youth Basketball Coaches are responsible for leading and mentoring players, teaching the fundamentals of basketball while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. The candidate must confidently and effectively implement our curriculum and mission. This is a part-time contracted job that will report to the Director of Youth Programs.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
- Execute engaging basketball training sessions tailored to youth athletes.
- Teach fundamental skills, game strategies, and basketball IQ in a positive and encouraging environment.
- Serve as a role model by promoting sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and Dallas Wings staff.
- Be responsible for the safety and well-being of all participants during events.
- Perform additional duties and functions as assigned.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
Job Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1+ years basketball coaching or playing experience (HS and/or College+)
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, drills, and game strategies.
- Experience working with children ages 6 to 17.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- Participate in a minimum of 4 youth basketball events, including camps and clinics.
- Availability in summer of 2026 is a must.
- Ability to attend camps/clinics on weekends and/or school holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism and punctuality are a must.
- Ability to follow a detailed lesson plan and curriculum.

Physical Requirements*
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, walking and extended work hours.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Hearing, seeing, reading, writing, concentration, comprehension, and talking with clear speech.
- Planning, organizing, interpreting data, making decisions, problem-solving, and composure under deadlines/stress.
