Position Summary
The Coordinator of Basketball Operations is an entry-level position that supports the daily operational, logistical, and administrative needs of the Atlanta Dream WNBA. This role works closely with basketball operations staff, coaches, players, and internal departments to ensure smooth execution of team activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a professional women’s basketball environment.

Key Responsibilities
Basketball Operations & Team Logistics
  • Assist with coordination of team travel, including flights, hotels, ground transportation, meals, and itineraries
  • Support practice and game-day operations, including facility scheduling, practice setup, and post-practice breakdown
  • Help manage team calendars, schedules, and daily operational communications
  • Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day operational needs of players and basketball staff
Equipment & Facility Support
  • Assist with ordering, inventory, distribution, and organization of team equipment and apparel
  • Support practice and game-day equipment setup and breakdown (balls, jerseys, warm-ups, training aids, etc.)
  • Coordinate laundry and equipment needs in collaboration with the basketball operations staff
  • Help maintain organization and cleanliness of locker rooms, storage areas, and practice spaces
  • Assist with equipment logistics for road trips, training camp, and special events
Player & Staff Support
  • Provide day-to-day support for players and coaching staff, addressing logistical or operational needs as they arise
  • Assist with player onboarding, housing coordination, and relocation support when needed
  • Help facilitate communication between players, coaches, and basketball operations staff
  • Support player appearance and community efforts in correspondence with the business operations department
League & Administrative Support
  • Assist with compliance-related documentation and league reporting requirements
  • Help prepare and distribute daily schedules, travel itineraries, and internal materials
  • Track expenses and assist with basic budget and reimbursement processes
  • Support game operations requirements in accordance with WNBA policies and standards
Seasonal & Special Projects
  • Support training camp, preseason, regular season, postseason, and league events (Draft, All-Star, etc.)
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives assigned by basketball operations leadership
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall success of the Atlanta Dream Organization
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel
Preferred
  • Internship or entry-level experience with a professional, collegiate, or elite basketball program
  • Interest in basketball operations, team services, or equipment management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and scheduling tools
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team

Work Environment
This role operates in a hands-on, team-oriented professional sports environment. The position requires physical activity (lifting, standing, moving equipment) and flexibility in scheduling, including extensive travel during the season.
