Job Title: Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach, Data Analytics & Sport Science
Reports To: Director of Strength & Conditioning / Head of Sport Performance
Position Type: Full-Time; Salary Exempt; includes evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
 
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with a strong background in biomechanics, data analytics, and sport science technology. This role will support the performance staff in designing, implementing, and monitoring evidence-based training programs to optimize athlete performance, reduce injury risk, and enhance recovery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience integrating sport science tools, managing performance data, and translating insights into actionable strategies for coaches and athletes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·       Assist in the design, delivery, and supervision of strength and conditioning programs for all athletes.
·       Assist in the design and monitoring of off-season programs in conjunction with the HPM (head performance/medical) team.
·       Manage and analyze athlete performance data from sport science technologies (e.g., GPS, force plates, heart rate monitoring, velocity-based training systems, readiness tracking).
·       Develop and maintain athlete performance dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators to support decision-making.
·       Collaborate with sports medicine, coaching, and performance staff to align training loads with athlete wellness, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
·       Conduct research and implement evidence-based practices to enhance athletic performance and recovery strategies.
·       Provide individualized feedback to athletes and coaches based on objective data and performance outcomes.
·       Maintain sport science equipment, ensure accurate data collection, and manage databases.
·       Stay current with emerging technologies, analytical methods, and performance monitoring strategies.
·       Travel with team to all away games as assigned by the Head of Performance.
·       Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Head of Performance.

Qualifications:
·       Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sport Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
·       At least 2 years’ full-time experience with sport athlete populations in a sport performance setting, strength and conditioning, and/or applied research experience.
·       CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or equivalent certification required. Also, must have or actively seeking certification as a (CPSS) Certified Performance and Sport Scientist or equivalent.
·       Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications.
·       Experience with performance monitoring technologies (e.g., Catapult, Polar, Hawkin Dynamics, VALD, GymAware, Kinexon, or similar).
·       Strong proficiency in data management and visualization tools (e.g., player profiles, practice reports, game reports).
·       Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights for coaches and athletes.
·       Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a high-performance, team-oriented environment.
·       Previous experience working in collegiate, professional, or elite sport settings preferred.

Preferred Skills:
·       Knowledge of applied sport science principles, athlete monitoring, and performance testing.
·       Ability to design, administer, and interpret comprehensive movement screening protocols to identify movement inefficiencies, asymmetries, and injury risk factors, while integrating findings into individualized training, corrective strategies, and long-term athlete monitoring.
·       Familiarity with injury prevention, recovery modalities, and load management strategies.
·       Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
