Position Description:
The Sr. Manager, Group Sales will report to the Director, Ticket Sales and will be responsible for managing the team’s group sales function and for growing group ticket revenues. Core to this role is the ability to hire and develop a strong team of group sales account executives, a strong understanding of top group sales categories, and continually rigorous management of the group sales process and pipeline. A strong emphasis for helping Group Reps learn and be prepared for continued career growth is vital. Expectations for the groups function is to grow to be top third in the league while meeting Premium Sales and Group Sales goals for Concerts and Arena Shows. The ideal candidate will be an effective, hands-on coach for group account executives, a motivating leader and advocate for group sales throughout the organization, and a strong team player than will help support the organization’s overall goals.
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and developing group sales account executives
- Managing the group sales business plan, with core accountability for revenue and ticket goals
- Developing group sales goals, incentives, and campaigns for Bucks, concerts, and arena shows
- Managing Group AE accountability for call volume, appointment setting, and ticket sales
- Developing goals and strategies and managing performance for top group categories for both Bucks and Arena Shows
- Assisting in cross-training other departments on group sales tactics and initiatives and effectively championing group sales initiatives throughout the organization
- Creating and implementing innovative new group opportunities and events while building upon existing core programs
- Planning and management of in-game prospecting and other face-to-face group sales events
- Managing the annual group sales renewal campaign and process
- Attending team and community events for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities
- Managing game day responsibilities, including hosting of groups, management of fan experiences, and distribution of value-added giveaway items
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3+ years of group sales experience required; previous sales management experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of the group sales process and category management
- High proficiency in ticket sales techniques, and strong ability to teach and coach others
- Familiarity and proficiency with Ticketmaster systems strongly preferred
- Experience with CRM (MS Dynamics) a plus
- Strong knowledge and ability to run detailed reports
- Detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple people and projects
- Strong work ethic and high personal accountability
- Strong written and verbal communications
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
