Summary
The Director of Arena Security for the Deer District LLC (the “Organization”) will have overall responsibility for all matters relating to security for Deer District facilities and events.

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all the Deer District security strategies, programs, and procedures. This role is expected to identify and be fully informed about the nature and types of security risks that may affect the Organization and the public attending events in the Deer District and develop and implement the appropriate plans to control and mitigate those risks. They will be expected to understand the strategic objectives of the Organization and how to integrate the security needs with its objectives and will need to know how and when to enlist the support of personnel within other departments.

Responsibilities:
Below is a list of essential duties and responsibilities of the Position. This list is not all-inclusive or exhaustive and may be supplemented or revised by the General Manager, SVP of Security or the Organization at their sole discretion at any time.

  • In collaboration with the Organization’s senior executives, direct the development of an effective strategy to assess and mitigate risk, maintain continuity of operations, and safeguard the Organization and persons attending events.
  • Direct the security personnel in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining all safety and security processes, practices, and policies to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability in all areas of physical and personal risk.
  • Seek and deploy state-of-the-art technology solutions and innovative security management techniques to safeguard the Organization’s assets and property by establishing appropriate standards and associated risk controls.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high-level, local, state, and federal law enforcement personnel and private sector counterparts, National Basketball League security and local fire safety agencies and personnel.
  • Through subordinate managers and staff, coordinate and implement site security, operations and activities to ensure protection of owners, executives, players, managers, employees, customers, stakeholders, visitors, etc. and physical and information assets.
  • Work with all of the Organization’s departments, specifically, the Legal and Human Resources Department, to ensure that security incidents and related issues and claims are investigated and resolved without undue disruption of the Organization’s business and activities, and that all investigations or other activities undertaken by the Organization’s security personnel are conducted in a fair and objective manner, consistent with the Organization’s values and codes of business conduct.
  • Work with Scheduling to assign deployments and staffing levels for the 24 hour and event employees.
  • Conduct event briefings with Supervisors and event staff on event days.
  • Be the primary point of contact for Security during events.
  • Attend event meetings to advise on Security matters for events.
  • Conduct proper investigations and inquiries into all matters that may adversely impact the safety and security of the Organization’s personnel, the public, or the venue, including, without limitation, all accidents or incidents involving safety and security the occur on the premises of Deer District facilities to include Fiserv Forum. Prepare detailed reports of each investigation and deliver such reports to the Organization’s Legal Department.
  • Properly document and maintain all departmental policies and procedures in a clear and orderly manner.
  • Provide guidance, instruction and communication of security policies and procedures to subordinate personnel and security services contractors (if any) in support of the proper execution of their assigned duties.
  • Ensure that all shift related issues, observations and critical information are documented, verified and accurately reported to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of all document flow programs to ensure compliance with established and documented policies and procedures. Take the necessary corrective action when discrepancies are noted.
  • Maintain accountability for all files, logs and reports for the required period of time and doing so in a manner that will ensure quick and accurate recall of any required/requested information.
  • Maintain procedures and training for security personnel that will enable them to accurately prepare and file reports regarding all security incidents in and around Deer District facilities.
  • Provide quality control oversight of all uniforms and equipment needed by the Organization’s security staff to perform their duties and responsibilities.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment and ensure that the Organization’s commitment to such an environment is communicated to and adhered to by all subordinates and contractors.
  • Conduct briefings with staff and senior management on security matters as needed.
  • Provide proper training and conducting periodic reviews of all security personnel.
  • Provide proper security training to all Bucks employees such as evacuation plans, active shooter, etc.
  • Develop and review emergency response and crisis management procedures and conduct periodic training exercises relating to such procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, service-oriented relationship with fans/guests attending events.
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure compliance with union contracts, grievances, employee communications and support.
  • Establish policies and maintain records related to Deer District facilities and arena access controls, including the issuance of daily, seasonal and year-round credentials to employees, vendors, and media.
  • Retain, supervise, and direct the deployment of on-site, life-safety personnel, including doctors, nurses, fire officials, and paramedics.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for the Fiserv Forum Security Department.
  • Complete all duties as assigned, on a timely basis, and with a high degree of professionalism.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with management, staff, contractors, partners, and the public.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments within the Organization, including, but not limited to, Finance, Legal, and Human Resources.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with local law enforcement.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
  • Familiarity with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS) functions.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed and to be present to respond to emergencies within a reasonable time and be present for events.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the year to attend industry meetings and conferences.
  • Obtain appropriate industry credentials and certifications as identified in concert with Chief Security Officer.
