Summary:
The Arena Security Manager will be responsible for the coordination of arena security operations for Fiserv Forum and the Deer District. The ideal candidate will coordinate administrative and operational matters with arena security staff; coordinate all activities of Arena Operations Center (AOC) and 24-hour security staff; train, supervise and provide performance feedback when necessary; monitor guest activity and assist with maintaining order and ensuring adherence to safety and security standards of Fiserv Forum.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security initiatives for the AOC. 
  • Provide services related to controlling access to the building, monitoring incident management software, social media monitoring software, and using building surveillance systems to monitor the building and premises.
  • Complete event logs and prepare incident reports as required.
  • Schedule medical, police, K9 and other local emergency management departments deemed necessary for all Fiserv Forum and Deer District events.
  • Develop and conduct security & safety training sessions for 24-hour security personnel.
  • Complete special projects and other assigned tasks within the guidelines and deadlines set by the Arena Security Director.
  • Communicate and plan with Arena Security Director and other departments to understand expectations of a successfully secured event, pre and post event.
  • Establish facility needs based on Milwaukee Bucks and other tenant expectations, staff and coordinate needs to internal department and outside agencies and vendors.
  • Oversee credentials and key card access for 24 Hour building access and event credentialing; ensures the quality and accuracy of all logs and incident reports generated daily; create and implement post orders for the 24-hour security team.
  • Assist security management team with security staff equipment and maintain a program for assigning and tracking all equipment assigned to security staff.
  • Use software to maintain records and photos of all incidents that involve any events at Fiserv Forum and site.
  • Assist in the administrative documentation including reports, disciplinary notes, logging entries and participate in the creation of department budget and strategic plans.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Department to fulfill the security staffing requirements for the AOC. 
  • Respond to emergencies and work to deescalate urgent matters. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Prior experience working with the public in a hospitality-related or customer care environment. 
  • Experience in the sports and entertainment industry is a plus!
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems and experience using ABI scheduling software is a plus!
  • NCS4, IAVM, ASIS certifications preferred. 
  • Up to date and in sync with industry trends and applicable laws. 
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, on-call status, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to speak and present to large groups or members of the organization.
  • Effective written communication skills to write reports and correspond in a professional manner; read, comprehend, edit safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel, Access, and Outlook).
 
Typical Working Conditions:
  •    The duties of this job require the ability to work both indoors and outdoors in both hot and cold weather conditions. 
  • This work requires considerable physical activity primarily involving walking and standing for extended periods. Some lifting, reaching, stooping, balancing, climbing, and/or crouching may be required. Visual and audio acuity are required for resolving customer service issues. Incumbent is required to have sufficient hearing ability to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is routinely required to walk, stand, and sit as needed.  
  • The employee has continuous contact with the public and is routinely required to work with others to accomplish joint projects and to work alone on own tasks. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is frequently subject to noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.  Lighting and temperature are generally adequate, but work is occasionally performed in dark areas that require some form of light.  
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to extend one’s arm(s) in any direction.
  • Ability to be subject to substantial repetitive motions of the body or its parts.
  • Ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 15 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to view a computer screen for long periods of time.
