General Description:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures reliable system performance, availability, and scalability across servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud services. The Systems Administrator works closely with business stakeholders to maintain a stable and secure computing environment. This role also provides oversight of end-user computing environments, including device standards and business-critical application management.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:  
  • Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based systems Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, cloud services) through system upgrades, patches, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize enterprise storage solutions, including provisioning, snapshots, replication, and performance tuning for virtualized workloads.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user accounts, permissions, and authentication services.
  • Monitor system performance, security events, vulnerabilities, backups, and scalability for organization growth.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including MFA, endpoint protection, patching, and least-privilege access.
  • Support compliance requirements, audits, and incident response activities.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, security controls, technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Define and maintain standards for approved devices, operating systems, and applications, including lifecycle and refresh strategies.
  • Support core networking services such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and remote access environments.
  • Collaborate with network and security teams on infrastructure changes.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) to improve efficiency and reduce manual work while continuously identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve system reliability.
  • Act as an escalation point for Tier 2/Tier 3 technical issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity efforts.
  • Identify, standardize, and manage end-user devices across the enterprise, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and specialized hardware.
  • Oversee enterprise endpoint management platforms (Intune, SCCM, JAMF, or similar) to deploy, configure, secure, and maintain end-user devices at scale.
  • Install, update, and maintain enterprise software and applications, ensuring compatibility, security, and performance across supported platforms.
  • Evaluate, test, and recommend new software applications and tools based on business requirements, security posture, licensing impact, and operational fit.
  • Partner with departments and application owners to understand workflows and align devices and application solutions with organizational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 plus years of experience in systems administration or related IT infrastructure roles.
  • Strong experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage platforms (Pure Storage)
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM, JAMF, etc.).
  • Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-first environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise end-user devices and application deployments.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, Azure, AWS) are desired.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 40 pounds as part of regular job duties.
  • Requires visual ability to perform computer-based and detail-oriented tasks.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and event days, as business needs dictate.
  • Must maintain a high level of professionalism and responsiveness in all work environments, including during live events.
