JOB SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the leadership of the EVP, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administration Officer the Vice President of Finance will oversee the accounting, payroll, reporting and finance teams. Specifically, the position will oversee the financial functions of Cavaliers Holdings LLC, Cavaliers Foundation Inc and Q Real Estate Management Co. in accordance with current Federal/State regulations and generally accepted accounting principles. Further, this position is to provide financial management and analysis and oversee, monitor and analyze capital and operating budgets, including monthly financial analysis and forecasting, annual planning, cash forecasting, new business integration/acquisition analysis and ad hoc business analyses.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recommend and implement written policies and procedures that reflect the financial goals and objectives of the organizations ownership group and senior management team
Assist with the development of the organizations policies and procedures. Administer financial policy as set forth
Evaluate the system of internal controls on an ongoing basis. Develop policies and procedures to ensure that any deficiencies are identified and corrected in a timely fashion, including adequate segregation of duties.
Ownership of the company’s ERP/Accounting system – evaluate on an ongoing basis to ensure it reflects an accurate assessment of the operating revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities of the organization.
Lead the annual planning/budgeting process by directing the FP&A Manager and accounting team to analyze and roll up the consolidated results
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial package with supporting schedules and commentary, meet with Team Leads on an ongoing basis to discuss team expense variance that may result in the recognition of permanent budget variance and assist in problem solving and/or providing additional information as to their departmental budgeted vs actual expenses.
Support the Business Plan Process and ensure tie in with strategic directives and tie in to the annual budgets
Plan and coordinate the fiscal year end audit with external audit firm. Review schedules prepared by staff for accuracy, thoroughness, and completeness.
Oversight of League (NBA, AHL and AFL) reporting (financial, ticketing) and annual audits, as necessary.
Oversight of Company’s cash flow and debt management, which includes credit and treasury management
Lead the annual planning/budgeting/reporting of the Cavaliers Foundation charitable arm ensuring compliance with IRS standards for Form 990 filing
Contribute to the organizational efforts of Diversity & Inclusion.

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or finance required. MBA or CPA is a requirement.
Minimum of fifteen years financial & reporting analysis experience in positions of increasing responsibilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve moderately complex situations and issues.
Results oriented with ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with Accounting and other departments and senior management.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office with advance level of Excel use.
Knowledge of Great Plains or similar accounting platform preferred.
