The Compensation Analyst is responsible for administering and maintaining the commission plans for the Sales Teams and other variable pay team members.  This will include maintenance of the Compensation Documents, Calculations, Software and Records to ensure that they are up to date over the course of the year.  This also includes generating calculations and distributing commission reports in accordance with the plan documents.  

This role works closely with finance, sales, and HR leaders to maintain up to date records and to identify and implement potential process improvements.  The successful Compensation Analyst thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, is a self-starter, analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to make a difference. Moreover, the candidate will be experienced at working effectively across multiple levels of an organization and building successful cross functional partnerships.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own and manage the overall monthly commission process for variable pay team members, including operational processes, policies and plans
  • Generate and distribute monthly commission statements using the existing commission systems, including custom software and Excel
  • Review, analyze, and adjust transactions to ensure accurate calculations for the Sales Team based on the sales comp plan
  • Work with Sales Team Leaders to research and resolve complex commission-related issues and questions
  • Promptly respond to and resolve commission-related inquiries, exceptions, and disputes
  • Ensure timely commission submission within the specified monthly deadlines
  • Apply quality assurance and control, project management, and leadership expertise to ensure Sales Team Leaders comply with the comp plan
  • A comprehensive understanding of various commission and incentive plans within the organization is required
  • Work with Sales Team Leaders to influence process improvements to manage the commission process more efficiently
  • Maintain updated documentation of our Compensation Plans to ensure the company's compensation strategy and offerings are well understood

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting, or a combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years working within a sales compensation, finance, accounting, or operations role
  • Strong analytical skills, to include intermediate to advanced use of MS Excel
  • Ability to analyze and validate data and develop exception-based calculations within the commission software
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask while managing deadlines
  • Effective communication skills to allow for relationships with multiple teams across the organization
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • An understanding of accounting practices and account reconciliations is a plus
