JOB SUMMARY:
 
Under direction of the 'Senior Vice-President, Rock Entertainment Group', the ‘2026 Summer Temporary Assistant, Rocket Classic’ is responsible for activating and fulfilling all assets within hospitality and partnerships for the Corporate Partnerships Team for the 2026 Rocket Classic Golf Tournament, hosted in Detroit, MI. 
 
** This is a temporary position from May 4 – August 15, 2026, that will work onsite at Rocket Headquarters in Detroit, as well as at Detroit Golf Club approximately 40 hours per week, with some duties offsite at various events, including but not limited to the Pairings Party, Pro-Am events and the tournament itself. A flexible work schedule is required as this role will work weekdays, weekends, and occasional holidays. Some weeks may exceed 40 hours. 
 
** Seeking candidates who live local to Detroit, MI. We will not be relocating candidates for this temporary position. Only local candidates will be considered.  

PAY RATE: $15.00/HR          

START DATE: May 4, 2026 (ok with a remote start if school year has not ended before 5/04)       

END DATE: Aug 15th, 2026
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partnership Activation & Sponsorship Fulfillment - 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned corporate partners, ensuring all contractual assets are delivered accurately, on time, and to the highest standard.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive activation plans that align sponsor objectives with tournament goals, Detroit community engagement priorities, and onsite opportunities.
  • Coordinate the execution of all partner assets including signage, branding, digital deliverables, media integration, experiential spaces, and onsite activations.
  • Track, document, and report on fulfillment of all sponsorship elements; maintain detailed records for mid-year and post-event recaps.
  • Manage creative and production timelines, working with internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure all materials meet brand standards and installation deadlines.
  • Support on-site oversight of partnership installations, including build-outs, approvals, quality control, and day-of adjustments.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, marketing, communications, and vendor partners to ensure smooth cross-functional execution.
  • Assist sales leadership with research and ideation for new partner concepts, upsell opportunities, and activation enhancements.
  • Produce customized post-tournament recaps for partners that showcase value delivery, metrics, photos, and ROI storytelling.

Hospitality Operations & Client Experience - 

  • Oversee hospitality product fulfillment, including suites, chalets, club spaces, and premium seating assets.
  • Coordinate credentialing, parking, ticket distribution, and guest communications to ensure a seamless and professional hospitality experience.
  • Support the buildout and onsite execution of hospitality venues, working closely with operations teams, vendors, and tournament leadership.
  • Serve as an onsite host for key hospitality clients, addressing needs in real time and ensuring a high-touch, welcoming environment.
  • Work with catering, security, transportation, and guest services to align on service levels and expectations for all hospitality partners.
  • Assist with planning and managing hospitality-related partner events, meetings, and VIP experiences throughout tournament week.

Event Week Execution - 

  • Manage assigned partner and hospitality areas during tournament week, ensuring all activations, signage, and experiences are properly implemented and functioning.
  • Support troubleshooting, problem-solving, and real-time communication with partners and vendors to address issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Oversee photo capture of all activations and hospitality footprints for use in recaps and future sales materials.
  • Provide daily reporting to internal teams regarding activation statuses, hospitality needs, and partner engagement.

Administrative, Planning & Cross-Functional Coordination - 

  • Assist with timeline creation, staffing plans, logistics documents, and overall activation/fulfillment run-of-show materials.
  • Maintain partnership databases, inventory lists, and fulfillment tracking tools.
  • Work with finance and procurement on invoice tracking, budget management, and vendor coordination.
  • Support pre-event planning meetings with partners and serve as a liaison between departments to ensure communication flow and alignment.
  • Provide post-event assessment, recommendations, and learnings to support continuous improvement for the Detroit tournament and broader organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or University, preferably in the field of Sports Management, Business, or Marketing (or currently pursuing a BS Degree).
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week onsite at Rocket Headquarters in Detroit, MI and/or at Detroit Golf Club and other assigned events. 
  • Must be available to work onsite at Rocket Headquarters in Detroit or at Detroit Golf Club Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm. (This is not a part-time role and candidates seeking part time hours will not be considered).
  • Must be available to work flexible hours including frequent weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, service, and resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Flexible, motivated, and equipped to work in an environment of rapid change.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
