JOB SUMMARY:

The Staffing Assistant (Part Time) supports the Staffing Operations Manager with a variety of administrative and operational functions. This role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and posting work schedules for Guest Services Team Leaders, Guest Services Team Members, Event Security Sergeants, and Event Security Officers. The Staffing Assistant (Part Time) also assists with recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts, ensures compliance with departmental and union requirements, and maintains accurate administrative records.

This is an event-based position; work hours will vary depending on the Rocket Arena event schedule (IE. - Cavs games, Monsters games, Concerts, Special Events, etc.), including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. On average, this role is expected to work approx. 15-30 hours per week. Additional duties may be assigned by the Staffing Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Prepares, coordinates, and maintains work schedules for Guest Services and Event Security staff for all events, including pre- and post-event coverage, special events, and meetings.
  • Assists with the recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of Guest Services and Event Security Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Monitors and tracks Team Member attendance through payroll systems and sign-in sheets.
  • Processes and monitors requests for time off, jury duty, military leave, and other schedule adjustments.
  • Assists with LAZ Parking registration and coordination for Team Members as needed.
  • Answers Staffing Office phones in a professional and timely manner; checks voicemails and maintains accurate call records.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to Staffing emails.
  • Prepares counseling action forms related to attendance policy violations for review by Senior Directors of Guest Services and Safety & Security.
  • Assists in the coordination of departmental recognition programs and contributes recommendations for new initiatives.
  • Supports inventory management of office supplies and HR/payroll documentation.
  • Maintains Staffing and HR database systems with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Staffing Operations Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–2 years of related experience in staffing, scheduling, human resources, or administration; or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Experience using Dayforce is preferred. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

This position follows an event-based schedule. Hours will vary depending on the needs of the event calendar and may include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Flexibility and availability to work during peak event times are required. The weekly hours will vary based on event schedule, but will not exceed 30 hours per week.
