 The Cleveland Cavaliers Youth Sports Team seeks a dynamic, people-focused Project Coordinator who will help support all programs under the Youth Sports umbrella.

  • Serve as event manager for all Cavs Academy Camps and Clinics by doing the following: 
    • Monitoring registration numbers leading up to the day prior to an event and communicating with attendees 
    • Providing support in organizing, preparing and packing vehicles for upcoming camps and clinics with the appropriate materials 
    • Provide customer service to all parents, children and spectators 
    • Manage set-up, execution and tear-down of all Cavs Academy Camps and Clinics 
  • Assist with coaching and on-court instruction at all Cavs Academy, Jr Cavs and community clinics and camps 
  • Act as department liaison with marketing and communications department to coordinate campaigns for all youth basketball and youth cheer, dance and performance clinics and camps 
  • Provide on-site support for all Jr Cavs events and activations
  • Coordinate all Elite Game (high school series) events at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and work with booking/operations teams on reserving space  
  • Conduct market research on best practices both locally and nation-wide and provide monthly youth sports trend reports to department management 
  • Attend networking events, marketing activations, and other grass-roots events to help promote Cavs Youth Sports
  • Create recaps for Youth Sport’s promotional campaigns and events including compiling internal and external marketing asset data, summarizing event execution and gathering attendance and ticket sales.
  • Support the team in the successful execution and planning of a
     variety of team projects, including, but not limited to team marketing
     campaigns, media promotions, giveaway events, sweepstakes and special events
  • Manage Jr. Cavs and Cavs Academy ticket redemption email campaign  
  • Support the coordination of giveaways and event nights, including the coordination of giveaway distribution process with the facility operations team
  • Assist with coordination of Youth Sport’s participation in the player autograph sessions and Media Day
  • Provide support to Youth Sport Leadership team with a variety of projects, assignments and activations 

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required; experience utilizing LeagueApps or similar software a plus 
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends and have a reliable car for out-of-market travel 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and display strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Knowledge of the youth sports landscape and strong familiarity of the NBA and sport of basketball 
  • Strong organization and time-management skills; must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines on a continual basis 
  • Highly motivated, energetic and passionate about the development of youth
  • Ability to load/unload equipment, typically weighing no more than 30-40 lbs 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or University required
  • Experience as a coach, camp counselor, education or in childcare required
  • Minimum of two (2) years similar experience or in a support, project manager or coordinator role 
  • Background in creating and executing camps, clinics or youth events preferred 
  • Coaching license preferred
