The Greensboro Swarm seeks an upbeat individual to support and learn from members of the Coaching and Basketball Operations staff with daily team operations and logistics. The position is unpaid and the student must receive academic credit. The internship is for the full season, two semesters, from September to April.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist coaching staff with player development, rebounding, and drills in practice
Work with the coaching staff to prepare scouting reports and video for analysis on opposing teams and players. Also, helping the coaching staff with the filming of practices & games.
Help with charitable and community events with our players and coaches.
Work with Basketball Operations staff on managing team equipment
Assisting with player personnel, database management, and other operations tasks
Support basketball operations staff with preparing the facility, court, and equipment/gear for practices and games
Assist with transporting players to and from practice and games (have a valid driver’s license with good driving record)

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities

To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies.

Must receive academic credit for both semesters.
Assist the athletic trainer & business staff by helping manage the ball kids on game nights.
Assist athletic trainer in preparing the home, visiting, and official’s locker rooms on game nights. (Uniforms, loops, towels, Gatorade, etc.)
Coordinate with the other interns on player transportation to and from the Fieldhouse.
Also, help maintain Swarm basketball operations spreadsheets.
Work to keep an accurate inventory of equipment, gear, Gatorade, and other important supplies and initiate order requests when necessary.
Coordinate plans for players that do not travel on the road with the athletic trainer and coaches regarding any medical appointments or specific workouts.
Desire to pursue a career in the sports industry
You should possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Outgoing personality with good communication skills
Ability to work on projects and maintain confidential information
You should maintain a professional image at all times
Willingness to work long non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, etc.)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
