HSE is seeking a Guest Experience intern who will play an integral role in hospitality operations, delivering exceptional service to guests and help lead our staff of part-time employees. The Guest Experience Internship will provide hands-on exposure to event coordination, guest feedback analysis and overall hospitality management.

This is a paid, in-person internship. Interns will be paid $15.00 per hour, with the ability to work a minimum of twenty (20), maximum of thirty (30) hours per week. The 2026-2027 season program runs from September 7, 2026, through April 23, 2027.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily department operations and administrative tasks.
  • Organize and manage ongoing Guest Experience projects.
  • Learn and perform the responsibilities of each event staff role.
  • Support part-time recruitment efforts and help develop process improvements and training plans to boost team member engagement.
  • Collaborate with the team to create guest experience materials and presentations.
  • Assist with pre-event and event day operations for all Spectrum Center events.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and consistent guest experience.
  • Participate in the full internship program, including workshops, speaker series, job shadowing, and working on an intern project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities

To be successful in this position, you should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Hospitality and Tourism, Business major or related experience preferred.
  • Male collegiate basketball players must have exhausted their NCAA eligibility before participating in the HSE internship program.
  • Strong ability to manage time effectively, multitask and prioritize tasks with clearly defined deadlines, goals and objectives.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Flexible and dependable team player, both within the department and across the company.
  • Creative, performance-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in dynamic and evolving environments.
  • Present self in a professional manner and have the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays and attend company events.
