SUMMARY

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment is looking for energetic and outgoing people to represent NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. The College Ambassador should be a fan of music, entertainment and pop culture, and currently attending a college or university on Long Island – Hofstra, NCC, Stony Brook, LIU Post, Adelphi, Molloy, SCC, Farmingdale.

This position will be responsible for promoting events at NYCB LIVE on their college campus. They must be knowledgeable of upcoming events at the venue on the different programs it has for college students. The responsibilities of this position will include assistance with the creation and implementation of promotions and marketing activations on campus. This position will be expected to use independent judgment to execute these activations and will be provided marketing collateral and all necessary equipment to perform these tasks.

It is critical that the incumbent in this position has the professional maturity to appropriately represent the BSE brand while promoting to their classmates and peers. Additionally, the incumbent must possess and demonstrate strong independent reasoning and problem solving skills, in addition to being detail oriented and organized. The incumbent should think proactively and suggest new ways to contribute while maintaining a positive attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• May be assigned one or more activations to coordinate inclusive of move-in day, welcome week, fall fest, spring fling, etc.;
• Help with tabling and marketing at community events
• Will assist at Long Island Nets Games
• Will assist at NYCB LIVE events
• Flyering at community events
• Will assist with the coordination of venue and event marketing and promotions on college campuses;
• Will aid in the execution of marketing strategies for various initiatives;
• Will help the department establish relationships on their respective college campuses;
• Will provide content for venue social media handles;
• Will assist in identifying key social media influences on respective campus;
• Will research opportunities on campus to help grow the business;
• May be required to attend arena events and assist the department as they host college-specific promotions;
• May interact with the senior level management team and ownership groups;
• Maintains proper and professional decorum;
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
• Enrolled at a college or university on Long Island, New York;
• Majoring in marketing, public relations, journalism, music and event management are preferred;

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Must be self-confident, resilient and possess a high level of energy and enthusiasm;
• Must be very dynamic, forward- thinking and well organized;
• Must have a knowledge of social media platforms, and have the desire to and ability to keep up with growing trends as they relate to social media;
• Must have a large network on and off campus;
• Must have the ability to rise to the challenge and provide the hard work necessary to succeed;
• Must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills;

WORKING CONDITIONS

Travel Requirements
May be required to travel on some occasions (<20%) to different locations on Long Island.

Physical Demands
This position requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment
The incumbent will spend the majority of their time on their own college campus but may be responsible to work event at NYCB LIVE, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
