ABOUT TYPE.SET.BROOKLYN

Type.Set.Brooklyn is a media company rooted in the spirit and attitude of Brooklyn—amplified to a global audience. We tell stories at the intersection of pop culture, sports, music, fashion, and food, creating content that cuts through the noise across platforms. We’re building a nimble team of editors, strategists, and creatives to bring our vision to life—grounded in Brooklyn, reaching far beyond.

THE ROLE

We’re seeking a savvy and culturally in-tune Social Editor to manage the day-to-day posting and scheduling across Type.Set.Brooklyn’s social channels (Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Facebook). This role will report into the Director of Social and work closely with editorial and art teams to execute platform-native rollouts that bring our stories to life and grow our audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own daily posting across all social platforms (writing copy, scheduling content, and optimizing for platform best practices)
  • Work with the editorial team to strategize and execute rollouts for features, interviews, and .com content
  • Collaborate with the editorial and art teams on rollouts for tentpole stories and multi-platform editorial packages
  • Maintain and manage a forward-looking social calendar that aligns with editorial priorities, cultural moments, and brand tentpoles
  • Bring fresh, platform-first ideas to weekly editorial and social meetings
  • Monitor trends and cultural moments across platforms and pitch in-the-moment content ideas
  • Track performance of posts and apply learnings to optimize future rollout strategy

WHO YOU ARE

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media or editorial content at a publisher or brand
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills, with a clear sense of voice and platform nuance
  • Comfortable juggling multiple posts and deadlines across platforms in a fast-moving environment
  • Highly organized and proactive with calendar planning and scheduling tools
  • Collaborative team player who can work cross-functionally across departments
  • Available to work Monday through Friday, 10 AM–6 PM, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Deep understanding of internet culture, music, sports, and style—and how to speak to those audiences authentically
  • Familiar with social publishing tools (Later, Sprout, etc.) and analytics platforms (native and third-party)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) for light asset editing, resizing, and video editing
